Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, Operate
Summary
Forward-deployed engineer at a healthcare AI company owning client engagements end-to-end — from pre-sales demos and architecture through integration, launch, and support of production AI agents that connect to EHR/EMR, claims, pharmacy, and CRM systems under HIPAA. Core stack: JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, Python, Next.js, React, AWS/GCP.
About the Role
Join a healthcare AI team deploying production AI agents for healthcare providers, health systems, and life sciences organizations. You will lead technical delivery from initial discovery through launch and ongoing support, while bringing insights from client work back into reusable platform capabilities.
What You'll Do
Own client engagements from pre-sales demonstrations and requirements gathering through architecture, integration, implementation, and post-launch support.
Design and build production AI agent systems that connect with healthcare platforms such as EHR and EMR systems, claims tools, specialty pharmacy systems, and CRMs while meeting HIPAA requirements.
Lead working sessions and present technical approaches to executive, technical, and non-technical client stakeholders.
Make independent architecture and design decisions, scope integrations, and address implementation challenges with clients.
Share field learnings with the product team and develop reusable components for future deployments.
What We're Looking For
Five to 15 years of software engineering experience, with a record of delivering customer-facing production systems end-to-end.
Experience designing complete system architectures and producing architecture diagrams, and owning technical delivery across pre-sales, scoping, and implementation.
Hands-on experience putting LLM systems or AI agents into production, including evaluation, guardrails, and monitoring.
Fluency in JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, Python, Next.js, and React, plus experience with cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP.
Healthcare or life sciences expertise, such as health insurance, patient services, specialty pharmacy, clinical operations, or HIPAA compliance.
Strong client communication and presentation skills, including leading technical sessions with varied audiences.
Experience with data or machine learning pipelines, ETL/ELT, unstructured data, or document ingestion is useful.
Must be a US citizen or Green Card holder. Startup experience or experience building in a high-growth environment is valued.
