Senior FP&A Consultant

Key Responsibility:

The Senior FP&A Consultant partners with the client to define both functional and technical requirements, ensuring the design and delivery of planning models that align with their strategic financial goals.

Facilitate client workshops to gather functional requirements, translate these into technical designs, and develop a comprehensive solution blueprint.

Define and develop system integration processes, ensuring seamless data flow from various source systems as per client requirements.

Implement, test, and optimize FP&A models to support business planning, budgeting, and reporting in line with the agreed solution design.

Compile all relevant documentation, including functional and technical specifications, blueprints, test cases (Unit and UAT), functional and technical design specifications, and training materials for the implemented solution.

Conduct quality assurance testing on solutions developed by other consultants to ensure adherence to project governance and standards.

Communicate effectively with technology and service managers, keeping them informed of key client issues, and working to identify and resolve potential problems.

Collaborate with project management to create project plans, track project status, identify issues, and assess risks and benefits.

Utilize your expertise in data modelling and structures to create effective financial reporting and analysis tools that address client KPIs.

Lead the setup, configuration, prototyping, and testing of FP&A systems, ensuring they meet the defined solution design.

Manage and mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and ensuring high-quality delivery as both a technology expert and solution owner.

Requirements


A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Informatics, Computer Science, or a related technology field.

Leadership and Ownership: A proactive leader with a keen interest in managing teams and taking full ownership of project delivery.

FP&A Expertise: Minimum of 7 years of experience in FP&A or EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) systems with multiple full lifecycle implementations of planning and budgeting solutions.

Technical and Functional Knowledge: Strong understanding of FP&A systems from both the functional and technical perspectives, with experience in data modelling, structures, and database objects.
Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in Excel, with VBA experience being an advantage.

SQL Skills: Experience with SQL for data manipulation and modeling is beneficial.

Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong logical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with sound judgment.

Communication and Relationship Building: Excellent communication skills, especially in working with financial professionals to understand their budgeting and forecasting needs.

Mentorship: A desire and ability to mentor junior staff and explain complex technical concepts.

Ability to Learn: A quick learner, eager to grasp and apply new concepts and technologies.

Work Under Pressure: Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.

Experience in FP&A Systems: Relevant experience in implementing and optimizing FP&A or planning solutions.
