Summary
Senior front-end engineer building customer-facing web experiences for an entertainment/cinema client: reusable React/TypeScript components, Contentful CMS integrations, and the movie-discovery-to-ticket-purchase journey, with responsibility for Core Web Vitals, analytics/consent tagging, automated testing and CI/CD.
About our Client
Our client is an entertainment technology company, specializing in motion-picture technologies and large-format motion-picture presentations.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Front-End Web Engineer to build and operate client's customer-facing web experiences, with a focus on reusable React components, content-driven pages, and the journey from movie discovery to ticket purchase. This role works within the architecture set by the Web Application Architect and implements customer event collection and consent behaviour specified with the MarTech Solution Architect.
Role Scope
· Deliver accessible, responsive web experiences and reusable React/JavaScript components across website and related customer journeys
· Integrate Contentful content and external feeds into web pages, with resilient loading, caching, fallbacks and clear content publishing behaviour
· Implement application events and consent-aware tags at their source; validate payloads with the MarTech engineer and QA engineer
· Improve Core Web Vitals, SEO, AEO, browser compatibility and production observability; investigate customer-facing defects and performance regressions
· Build and maintain automated component and end-to-end tests, deployment pipelines and practical runbooks for owned web features
· Shopify store configuration may be required
· Partner with Product, Design, Brand and Content teams to turn prioritized requirements into maintainable releases
Required Qualifications
· 5+ years building and supporting production web applications with React, JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML and CSS
· Experience integrating headless CMS content, APIs and customer-facing commerce or account flows
· Extensive use of Material Design UI (aka MUI)
· Strong grasp of accessibility, responsive design, web performance, security basics and browser debugging
· Experience with automated testing, code review, CI/CD and diagnosing production issues using logs and monitoring
· Ability to work with analytics instrumentation, customer identifiers and consent requirements without treating a tag firing as proof of data quality
Preferred Qualifications
· Contentful, Cloudflare or similar CDN and edge delivery, experimentation, personalization, or ticketing and entertainment experiences
· JAMStack or Netlify web app development
Measures of success
· Reliable web releases with fewer customer-facing regressions and faster defect resolution
· Measurable improvement in accessibility, page performance and reusable component quality
· Consistent, testable customer events across key journeys
