Discussion

While frontend will be your specialism, this isn’t an environment where engineers are heavily siloed.

You won’t need to be a backend expert, but you should be comfortable understanding how the wider application works, interacting with APIs, and occasionally making smaller backend changes when needed.

  • Taking ownership of frontend features frominitialrequirements through to delivery
  • Building new functionality while helpingmoderniseexisting applications
  • Working closely with Product and the wider Engineering team
  • Integrating frontend applications with backend APIs and services
  • Occasionally working across the stack whenrequired
  • Considering security and potential vulnerabilities when building new functionality
  • Contributing ideas and helping shape technical solutions
  • Using modern AI development tools to improve your development workflow

Key requirements

  • Experience owning and delivering features rather than simply completing tickets
  • Good understanding of APIs and how frontend and backend systems interact
  • Some backend exposure or a willingness to work outside the frontend whenrequired
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • An understanding of secure development practices
  • Someone comfortable working within a smaller, collaborative engineering team
  • Experience working within a Start-up or scale-up environment

Nice to haves

  • SaaS or B2B product experience
  • Experience working within a regulated or security-conscious environment
  • Portfolio, GitHub or examples of products you’ve helped build
