We’re looking for a Frontend Engineer to build and maintain high-quality user interfaces across our digital products, websites, and internal applications.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on frontend development and delivery. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, Backend Engineering, Creative, and Web to turn requirements and designs into reliable, responsive, and polished interfaces.
You’ll work across:
External digital products, including GEM and Card Vault
Flesh and Blood website and campaign experiences
Internal applications, workflows, and operational tools
You’ll contribute throughout the development lifecycle, from understanding requirements and estimating work through to implementation, testing, release, production support, and ongoing improvement.
If you enjoy writing clean frontend code, solving practical UI problems, and seeing your work used by real players, retailers, fans, and internal teams, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Frontend Development
Build and maintain frontend features across digital products, websites, and internal applications.
Translate approved designs, user stories, and technical requirements into production-ready interfaces.
Develop clean, maintainable, and reusable UI components.
Support modern Single Page Application development.
Integrate frontend applications with REST and GraphQL APIs.
Manage frontend state, data loading, errors, validation, and user feedback.
Work within established frontend architecture, patterns, and development standards.
Contribute to the improvement of existing frontend systems and codebases.
Write clear, testable code that can be maintained by other engineers.
Participate in code reviews and respond constructively to feedback.
UI Implementation
Build responsive interfaces for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Implement layouts accurately from designs and creative concepts.
Apply strong attention to spacing, typography, hierarchy, alignment, and visual consistency.
Build accessible interfaces using semantic HTML and established accessibility practices.
Create clear interaction states, including loading, empty, success, validation, and error states.
Support animations and interface transitions where required.
Identify small usability issues during implementation and raise them with Product or Design.
Maintain consistent UI behaviour across products and platforms.
Website & Campaign Delivery
Build and update pages for the Flesh and Blood website.
Deliver campaign pages, product announcements, content experiences, and promotional interfaces.
Work with Creative and Marketing to implement approved campaign concepts.
Support content-driven website requirements and general web updates.
Help ensure website experiences are responsive, performant, accessible, and reliable.
Work with existing website systems, templates, and content workflows.
Quality, Performance & Production Support
Test frontend work across supported browsers and devices.
Diagnose and resolve frontend defects and production issues.
Improve frontend performance, including page load, rendering, asset delivery, and application responsiveness.
Contribute to automated frontend testing where appropriate.
Support CI/CD workflows and production deployment processes.
Monitor the behaviour of released features and assist with fixes or improvements.
Take responsibility for the quality of the code and features you deliver.
Balance feature delivery with maintenance, support, and continuous improvement work.
Collaboration
Work closely with Backend Engineers to connect APIs and backend functionality with usable interfaces.
Collaborate with Product and Design to clarify requirements and implementation details.
Work with Creative and Marketing on website and campaign delivery.
Participate in planning, estimation, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and technical constraints clearly.
Ask questions early when requirements or designs are unclear.
Share knowledge and contribute to a supportive engineering environment.

How You’ll Fit In
You’ll be part of a small, cross-functional digital product team made up of:
Product Owner
Technical Lead
Backend Engineers
Frontend Engineers
Web Coordinator
Creative and Marketing stakeholders
You’ll work across:
Product — building frontend features for GEM, Card Vault, and other digital products.
Web — implementing pages, campaigns, and content experiences.
Internal tools — building interfaces that support operational workflows and backend systems.
Support — helping maintain and improve existing applications in production.
You’ll work within the technical direction established by the Technical Lead and collaborate with Product and Design on implementation requirements.
You’ll help connect:
Product requirements → working frontend features
Approved designs → responsive interfaces
Backend APIs → usable application workflows
Creative concepts → production website experiences
Reported issues → tested fixes and improvements
This is a collaborative development role. You’ll be responsible for delivering quality frontend work, but you won’t be expected to manage people, own frontend strategy, or act as the final decision-maker for product and UX direction.
Who This Role Suits
This role is ideal for someone who:
Wants to spend most of their time writing and improving frontend code.
Enjoys turning designs and requirements into working interfaces.
Likes building both product applications and website experiences.
Cares about responsive behaviour, accessibility, performance, and visual accuracy.

Likes a mixture of feature delivery, maintenance, debugging, and continuous improvement.
Can work effectively within established systems and technical direction.
Takes responsibility for testing and supporting the features they build.
Enjoys seeing their work used by real players, retailers, fans, and internal teams.
This role is less suited to:
Candidates looking primarily for a frontend leadership or architecture position.
People seeking people-management responsibilities.
Pure UX or visual designers who don’t want to build production interfaces.
Developers who only want to work within one framework or application.
Pure WordPress or agency-style website developers.
Developers who prefer tightly prescribed tasks and are uncomfortable investigating technical problems.
Engineers who don’t want to support or improve work after it reaches production.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
You’ll build interfaces used by a global community of players, retailers, tournament organisers, and fans.
You’ll work across meaningful digital products, websites, and internal applications.
You’ll see the direct results of the features and experiences you deliver.
You’ll work with a collaborative cross-functional team.
You’ll have variety without being expected to carry leadership or management responsibilities.
We move quickly, stay flexible, and avoid unnecessary bureaucracy.
You’ll have opportunities to strengthen your frontend skills across different products and technologies.
You’ll contribute to the continued development of the Flesh and Blood digital ecosystem.
