Senior Full-Stack Developer- Codebase Auditor Role

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer / Software Architect to conduct a comprehensive technical audit of several existing software projects. This is not a build-from-scratch role — the initial engagement is focused on reviewing our current codebases, understanding what has been built, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and delivering a clear, professional roadmap for improvement before further development continues. Strong candidates may be considered for a longer-term senior developer or technical lead position based on performance in this initial engagement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a complete technical audit of existing frontend (React, Next.js, TypeScript), backend (API architecture, authentication, authorization, business logic), and database (PostgreSQL/Supabase) systems

• Assess code quality, architecture, security, performance, and scalability across all reviewed projects

• Identify duplicated, unnecessary, obsolete, or poorly structured code, as well as unfinished or partially implemented features

• Evaluate database schemas, relationships, indexes, constraints, Row Level Security (RLS) policies, and query performance

• Review AI integrations where applicable (OpenAI API, LLM integrations, RAG, vector databases, prompt architecture, cost/rate controls)

• Evaluate infrastructure and DevOps practices, including Git/GitHub structure, CI/CD, environment configuration, deployment, logging, and monitoring

• Conduct a full security review covering authentication, authorization, API key/secret protection, input validation, and common vulnerabilities (SQLi, XSS, CSRF)

• Classify each major system/feature as Good, Needs Improvement, Needs Refactoring, Critical, Incomplete, or Not Implemented

• Deliver a written technical assessment report covering all required sections (executive summary, architecture, frontend/backend/database/security/performance assessments, technical debt list, prioritized recommendations, and production-readiness scoring)

• Provide an overall Production Readiness score (out of 100) with a percentage breakdown of completed, needs-improvement, needs-rework, and incomplete/missing components

• Clearly communicate technical findings to a non-technical founder/business owner

• Maintain strict confidentiality of all proprietary source code and repository access

Requirements and Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience

• Strong full-stack development experience, with particular strength in React, Next.js, and TypeScript

• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge; Supabase experience highly preferred

• Experience with API architecture, authentication, and authorization systems

• Software architecture and security review experience

• Proven experience auditing or inheriting codebases built by other developers

• Working knowledge of Git/GitHub, CI/CD, and production deployment environments

• Experience with AI integrations (OpenAI API, LLM integrations, RAG, vector databases) is a strong advantage

• Experience with large SaaS platforms, AI applications, marketplaces, or multi-role platforms is a major advantage

• Ability to produce clear, detailed written technical audit reports

• Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders

• Willingness to sign an NDA and comply with confidentiality and secure access protocols.
