Senior Full Stack Developer - FinTech Solutions

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic and innovative FinTech company, is seeking a talented Senior Full Stack Developer to join their growing engineering team. This role is instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying robust and scalable web applications that power our cutting-edge financial solutions. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining the collaborative energy of our Sandton office with the flexibility of remote work. You will work across the entire technology stack, from front-end user interfaces to back-end services and databases, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack web applications and APIs.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and technical specifications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code across front-end and back-end systems.
• Develop and manage robust database schemas and queries.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the application stack.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to code reviews and technical discussions.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack web development.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as JavaScript (React, Angular, Vue.js), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Strong experience with back-end languages and frameworks (e.g., Python/Django/Flask, Node.js/Express, Java/Spring).
• Solid understanding of database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and ORMs.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and development.
• Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and testing methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment, collaborating with colleagues both in-office and remotely.
• Experience in the FinTech industry is advantageous.
