Senior full stack developer hired via a recruitment firm for a Singapore government contract: builds end-to-end web apps (React/TypeScript frontends, Node.js/Express/NestJS backends, PostgreSQL/MySQL), deploys on AWS/Azure, drives architecture, mentors juniors, and uses AI-assisted coding tools like Copilot and Claude Code.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development of full stack applications, from frontend interfaces to backend services.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and maintainable web applications using modern technologies.
- Build responsive and user-friendly interfaces using React and TypeScript.
- Develop and maintain secure, high-performance RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Design, optimise, and manage relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications on AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Codex, Claude Code) to enhance productivity and development workflows.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver quality software solutions.
- Mentor junior developers by providing technical guidance, code reviews, and best practices.
- Drive architectural decisions and ensure applications are scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable.
- Participate in system performance optimisation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of full stack software development experience (6-8 years preferred).
- Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript.
- Extensive backend development experience using Node.js, Express.js, NestJS, or similar frameworks.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and scalable application development.
- Experience designing and managing relational databases, including schema design and performance optimisation.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and working with containerisation technologies such as Docker.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted coding tools in software development projects.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently with a high level of ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
- Exposure to Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) environments or projects within Government Agencies will be an advantage.
