Senior Full Stack Developer (Java+Angular)

Project Description

MAX online is the most exciting and innovative learning platform for secondary education. Our adaptive all‑round platform puts teachers and pupils at the centre. MAX online assists the teacher in achieving their main goal: getting the best learning outcomes for each pupil. Its different modules support the teacher not only by offering the best quality teaching materials, but also by providing a range of time‑saving solutions for planning, preparing, coaching and assessing.

Role Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance application features using Java (Vert.x + RxJava, Spring) and JavaScript (Angular 16+, TypeScript, NgRx).
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and Service Engineers to identify areas for improvement in system architecture, performance, and maintainability.
• Optimise application performance, ensuring scalability and responsiveness.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) to deploy, manage, and monitor microservices‑based applications.
• Work with databases ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval using MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
• Follow best practices in CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud‑native development.
• Write clean, modular, and well‑documented code with a focus on reusability and maintainability.
• Conduct code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and improve overall code quality.

Must‑have Requirements

Backend Development

• Strong proficiency in Java 11+, Vert.x + RxJava or equivalent, and async/reactive programming in general, including Spring.
• Experience with debugging, maintaining, and supporting large‑scale live systems in production.
• Experience in designing and developing microservice architectures.

Frontend Development

• Expert in Angular 16+, including Signals and Standalone Components.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript and NgRx for state management.

Database & Storage

• Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL.

DevOps & Cloud

• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) for containerised application deployment.
• Experience with AWS.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket).

Best Practices & Agile

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and SOLID principles.
