Senior Full Stack Developer

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Our client is a fast-growing Canadian fintech building modern, customer-facing financial products at the intersection of technology and personal finance. AI is treated as a practical, everyday enabler across their engineering teams, and they are looking for builders excited to fold those tools into how they work and what they ship. This is a collaborative, mission-driven environment where engineers are given real ownership and room to grow. We are looking for a hands‑on Senior Full Stack Developer comfortable moving across the entire stack, from React/React Native and Angular on the front end to scalable services and APIs on the back end. You will ship customer-facing features end to end, contribute to architecture and technical direction, and help raise the bar on quality across the team. The right person enjoys context-switching between UI polish and server-side problem-solving, and cares as much about real-time responsiveness as they do about reliability at scale.

What you will do:

• Build and ship customer-facing features across the full stack, owning work from design through deployment.
• Contribute to front-end applications using React/React Native and Angular, with attention to performance, state management, and a clean user experience.
• Design and build backend services and APIs (REST, and ideally event-driven or gRPC), with sound data modeling across relational and NoSQL stores.
• Help architect resilient solutions for high-frequency, real-time data so trading and live experiences stay fast and dependable.
• Uphold engineering standards across code quality, testing, observability, CI/CD, and security.
• Adopt and champion AI tools that lift developer productivity and improve product features.
• Collaborate with product, design, and fellow engineers, and mentor more junior team members.

Compensation: Competitive base salary plus an annual incentive/bonus program, comprehensive health and benefits, paid vacation/personal/sick days, and a hybrid working model (minimum 3 days in office).

Must Have Skills:

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with proven full-stack delivery on large-scale web and/or mobile products.
• Strong hands‑on JavaScript/TypeScript and experience with React/React Native and/or Angular.
• Solid backend experience in one or more server-side languages (e.g., Node.js, Java, Go, C#, or Python) and building scalable APIs.
• Good command of data stores (SQL and NoSQL), state management (e.g., Redux, NgRx), and front-end build tooling.
• Understanding of real-time technologies such as WebSockets, plus performance optimization on either tier.
• Strong communication, ownership, and a pragmatic, results-oriented mindset.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Fintech, trading, or other low-latency, high-reliability experience.
• Hands‑on use of AI tooling in the development workflow.
• Experience with event-driven or gRPC API design.
