Senior Full Stack Developer

Project description

The project is for one of the world's famous science and technology companies in pharmaceutical industry, supporting initiatives in AWS, AI and data engineering, with plans to launch over 20 additional initiatives in the future. We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend and frontend services for our platform. The role involves working with Java (Spring Boot and Quarkus), React JS, Redux Toolkit, TypeScript, and containerization using Docker. You will also be involved in implementing secure authentication using Single Sign-On solutions (Keycloak or Entra ID).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java (Spring Boot) deployed on AWS ECS.
• Build responsive and intuitive user interfaces using React JS, Redux Toolkit, and TypeScript.
• Containerize backend services using Docker for deployment on ECS.
• Implement serverless workflow logic using Java (Quarkus) on AWS Lambda.
• Integrate and configure Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions, either Keycloak or Entra ID, for user authentication.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

SKILLS

Must have

• Frontend Development
• Core: React.js with TypeScript.
• State Management: Redux Toolkit.
• Deployment: Experience hosting UIs via AWS S3 and distributing through Amazon CloudFront. Backend Development (Java)
• Microservices: Strong proficiency in Java with Spring Boot for building backend services (Data Service, BFF) deployed on containers.
• Serverless Frameworks: Experience using Java with Quarkus for optimizing serverless workflow logic on AWS Lambda. Cloud Infrastructure & Architecture (AWS)
• Compute & Containerization: Docker containerization and orchestration using Amazon ECS (specifically on Fargate).
• Serverless & Orchestration: Deep knowledge of AWS Lambda for handling WebSocket events/callbacks and AWS Step Functions for business workflow orchestration.
• Networking: API Gateway (REST and WebSockets) and Application Load Balancer (ALB) for internal routing.
• Database Management: Experience with relational databases (Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL) and document databases (Amazon DocumentDB).
• Messaging & Event-Driven Architecture: AWS SNS (pub/sub), SQS (queuing), and SES (email notifications).

Security & Identity • Authentication/SSO: Proven expertise in integrating Single Sign-On solutions. Must have hands-on experience with both Keycloak and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including enabling Azure SSO for enterprise applications (such as Intelligencia AI or similar tools for Merck HealthCare employees) to navigate dual-implementation environments. • Cloud Security: AWS IAM for role/permission management and AWS Secrets Manager for credential security. DevOps & Infrastructure as Code (IaC) • CI/CD: Proficiency with Azure DevOps, specifically managing source code in Azure Repos and automating builds/deployments via Azure Pipelines. • Infrastructure Automation: Strong capability in writing AWS CloudFormation templates and Shell scripts. • Observability: Application and infrastructure monitoring, logging, and alarming using Amazon CloudWatch.
