Senior Full Stack Developer (Node.js & React)

About the Role

Our client, a progressive tech startup, is looking for a talented Senior Full Stack Developer to join their vibrant team in Bloemfontein, Free State. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Node.js and Express.js.
• Build responsive and interactive user interfaces using React, Redux, and related libraries.
• Integrate frontend and backend components seamlessly, ensuring a cohesive user experience.
• Develop and manage RESTful APIs and database schemas (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
• Implement automated testing, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to improve development processes and product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack development.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Proven experience with React.js and its ecosystem (Redux, Hooks, etc.).
• Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL).
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
