Senior Full Stack Developer

About us

Peticare Medical Group operates veterinary hospitals and related pet healthcare businesses in Hong Kong. We are expanding our digital ecosystem, including the Peticare One mobile app, internal business applications, integrations between operational systems, and centralized reporting and analytics.

We seek a hands-on, independent developer who enjoys creating useful software from the ground up. This is an end-to-end engineering role combining application development, mobile apps, systems integration, data engineering and business intelligence. Modern AI-assisted development is an important part of how we work, but sound engineering judgment, testing, documentation and security remain essential.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design, build, test, deploy and maintain full-stack web applications, internal tools and the Peticare One mobile app; develop APIs and responsive user interfaces; manage iOS App Store and Google Play releases, updates and submission requirements

• Connect hospital management, ERP, CRM, HR, telephony, finance and other platforms through APIs, webhooks, database interfaces and reliable scheduled or event-driven data synchronization; monitor failures and reconcile data

• Architect and maintain a centralized data warehouse; design ETL/ELT pipelines, staging layers, dimensional models, fact and dimension tables and data marts; implement data quality checks, lineage and access controls; create KPI dashboards and management reports using Metabase, Power BI or similar tools

• Design and administer SQL databases including PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server; optimize schemas and queries; deploy web applications and services using Linux/Windows, Docker, web servers and cloud or on-premises infrastructure; troubleshoot DNS, SSL/TLS, firewall and network connectivity

• Implement least-privilege access, secrets management, logging, monitoring, secure development practices, automated backups and tested recovery procedures; plan for availability, maintenance and disaster recovery

• Use Cursor, VS Code / Visual Studio, GitHub Copilot or comparable AI coding tools to accelerate development while reviewing generated code, writing tests, controlling versions and maintaining code quality

• Discuss requirements with management and non-technical teams; translate needs into architecture, milestones and deliverables; prioritize work, communicate risks and progress, document decisions and take responsibility for production outcomes

About you

• Strong practical experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, SQL and modern web frameworks (e.g., React or Vue); capable of learning additional languages and tools when a project requires them

• Hands-on Flutter, React Native or native mobile development experience; experience preparing, publishing and maintaining production applications on Apple App Store and Google Play

• Demonstrable experience designing and implementing a data warehouse, ETL/ELT pipelines, relational/dimensional data models and production BI dashboards; strong SQL and database management skills

• Experience with REST APIs, integrations, Git, Docker, server deployment, networking fundamentals, security, backup and restoration

• Proactive builder with strong ownership, systematic software planning, practical problem-solving, clear communication and the ability to collaborate across departments; able to work independently and deliver maintainable solutions

• Additional advantages: Metabase, Power BI, dbt, Airflow, Odoo, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Azure or AWS; healthcare or multi-site business systems; CI/CD, automated testing and observability; experience breaking complex projects into deliverable phases, defining technical standards, coordinating vendors or mentoring colleagues
