Senior Full Stack Developer - WFH

Job Description

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you'll build and maintain features across illumend's product —from customer-facing UI to backend services and integrations — working closely with our product and engineering team to ship reliable, well-architected software quickly. You'll be trusted to own significant pieces of the product end-to-end and help raise the bar on technical quality as the team grows.

• Own feature development end-to-end — from technical design through implementation,testing, and deployment
• Build frontend experiences using React/TypeScript (Next.js) and backend services using Node.js and/or Python
• Design and maintain APIs and integrations with third-party systems
• Work with PostgreSQL and modern data modeling practices
• Participate in code review, CI/CD, and release processes (GitHub Actions or equivalent), and help set technical standards for the team
• Collaborate with design, product, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Write clear technical documentation
• Identify and fix bugs, and proactively improve code quality and system reliability

Qualifications and Requirements

• Senior-level experience with React, TypeScript, and Node.js
• Backend experience with Python (FastAPI or similar) a plus
• Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
• Comfort with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) and CI/CD practices
• Track record of owning features end-to-end and making sound architectural decisions
• Ability to work independently, communicate clearly in English, and move fast in a startup environment
• Bonus: experience building AI-powered features or integrating with LLM APIs
