Senior Full Stack Engineer – AI-Assisted Development

About the Role
We are looking for a hands‑on Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, build, secure, and operate enterprise‑grade digital products on Microsoft Azure.
This is an AI-enabled engineering role where the successful candidate is expected to use modern AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent responsibly to improve coding productivity, testing, documentation, technical problem-solving, and delivery quality.
The role covers the full application stack, including frontend development, Java/Python backend services, APIs, databases, Azure cloud services, DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability, and production support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise‑grade full stack applications using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- Build secure and scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Python, FastAPI, or equivalent frameworks.
- Design and develop REST APIs and microservices following secure and maintainable engineering practices.
- Develop cloud‑native solutions using Microsoft Azure, including App Service, Azure Functions, Storage, Azure SQL Database, API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid, Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Application Insights and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Design and implement SQL/NoSQL data access patterns, including schema design, query optimisation, ORM and secure data handling.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise and / or GitHub Actions.
- Apply DevSecOps practices, including secrets management, security scanning, vulnerability management, automated testing and compliance checks.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, Terraform or equivalent tools.
- Containerise and deploy applications using Docker, Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) where appropriate.
- Integrate AI capabilities using Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Copilot services, or equivalent technologies where relevant.
- Use AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude and ChatGPT for coding, refactoring, testing, documentation and technical problem‑solving with appropriate human review and security controls.
- Participate in technical design, architecture reviews and integration planning.
- Support production operations, including troubleshooting, performance optimisation, monitoring, alerting, observability and incident resolution.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, business users, platform engineers, security teams and other stakeholders in Agile delivery teams.
- Document technical designs, engineering decisions, reusable patterns and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of hands‑on software development experience with demonstrated ownership of enterprise‑grade application design, delivery and production operations.
- Strong hands‑on experience with React and TypeScript; Angular or Vue.js experience is an advantage.
- Strong backend development experience with Java and / or Python, including Spring Boot FastAPI, Flask, Django or equivalent.
- Strong experience building REST APIs, microservices and cloud‑native applications.
- At least 3 years of hands‑on Microsoft Azure experience in production environments.
- Experience with Azure PaaS / serverless services such as App Service, Azure Functions, API Management, Azure SQL Database, Storage and Key Vault.
- Experience with authentication and authorisation using Microsoft Entra ID, Managed Identities and RBAC.
- Experience implementing CI/CD using Azure DevOps, GitHub Enterprise and / or GitHub Actions.
- Practical experience using AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Bicep, Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code tools.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and / or AKS.
- Strong understanding of secure application development, including secrets management, vulnerability management, security scanning and secure configuration.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, performance optimisation and production support capabilities.
- Experience working within Agile product delivery teams and collaborating with business, engineering, security, platform and operations stakeholders.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical designs and implementation plans.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Singapore Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) or other regulated enterprise environments.
- Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Copilot services or other AI‑enabled application capabilities.
- Experience implementing Azure cloud security controls including RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vault, network controls and secure service‑to‑service communication.
- Experience with platform engineering, internal developer platforms and reusable engineering templates.
- Experience with event‑driven architectures using Azure Service Bus, Event Grid or equivalent.
- Familiarity with domain‑driven design, system integration patterns and microservices architecture.
- Experience with observability using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, logs, traces, dashboards, alerts and application health metrics.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Azure DevOps and other modern engineering productivity tools.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior engineer who can independently design, build, deploy, secure and operate enterprise applications on Azure. You should be comfortable working across the full stack and taking ownership from technical design through production support.
You should also be comfortable using AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality while maintaining strong engineering judgement, security, maintainability and accountability.
