Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Summary

Senior Full-Stack Engineer at Clinically AI builds and scales an AI platform that cuts clinical documentation and compliance burden for behavioral health providers, owning features end-to-end from browser extension UI to cloud-native services. Core stack: TypeScript, React, Node.js, MongoDB, with CI/CD via GitHub Actions.

About Clinically AI

Clinically AI is a rapidly scaling healthcare AI company transforming how behavioral health and healthcare organizations manage clinical documentation, compliance workflows, chart auditing, and operational efficiency through artificial intelligence.

Our platform helps clinicians, compliance teams, administrators, and healthcare organizations reduce administrative burden, improve documentation quality, strengthen audit readiness, and operate more efficiently. We operate at the intersection of AI, healthcare operations, workflow design, and real-world clinical execution, where adoption, trust, usability, and measurable outcomes matter.

The Opportunity

Behavioral health is at a tipping point. Funding is tightening, compliance demands are growing, and clinician burnout is rising. The work is harder than ever — and the need for smart, compassionate solutions has never been greater.

We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to build and scale the platform that measurably reduces clinician burnout across behavioral health and healthcare organizations.

This is a critical role for someone who can own features end-to-end across our stack, architect systems that are fast and secure by design, and turn real clinical and compliance pain points into elegant, AI-driven solutions. You will work closely with our product, clinical, and engineering leadership to ship tools that cut documentation time by 60–80%, streamline compliance, and let practitioners spend more time on patient care and less on paperwork.

This is not a purely maintenance-oriented or ticket-taking engineering role. You should be comfortable owning ambiguous problems, working independently in modern, ephemeral development environments, mentoring other engineers, and shipping with velocity in a fast-moving startup environment.

We believe successful engineering at Clinically AI is defined not by lines of code shipped, but by measurable reductions in clinician burden, systems built to scale, and features that clinicians actually trust and adopt.

What You'll Own

  • Own the stack. Build and scale features across our entire platform — from frontend browser extension UI to cloud-native services and infrastructure.

  • Architect with intention. Design systems that are fast, secure, and built for growth.

  • Solve meaningful problems. Partner with product and clinical teams to turn real pain points into elegant, AI-driven solutions.

  • Work in modern environments. Develop independently in ephemeral environments that eliminate merge conflicts and enable rapid iteration.

  • Mentor and lead. Share knowledge, raise the bar, and help shape our engineering culture.

  • Drive innovation. Explore, test, and ship new ideas with velocity.

What We're Looking For

  • Full-Stack Ownership. You move fluidly between frontend, backend, and infrastructure, and you don't wait for permission to fix what's broken.

  • Pragmatic Architecture. You design systems that are fast and secure without over-engineering, and you make tradeoffs with long-term growth in mind.

  • AI-Native Problem Solving. You look for where AI can meaningfully cut clinician busywork, not just where it's technically interesting to apply.

  • Startup Velocity. You ship, iterate, and course-correct quickly, and you're comfortable operating with incomplete information in a fast-moving, ephemeral-environment workflow.

  • Technical Leadership. You raise the bar for the engineers around you through your code, your reviews, and your example — with or without a formal title.

  • Clear Communication. You translate complex technical tradeoffs into language product, clinical, and leadership stakeholders can actually act on.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of full-stack development experience, with a proven track record of leading projects from conception to deployment.

  • Deep proficiency in our core stack — TypeScript, React, Node.js, and MongoDB — including strong front-end fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

  • Experience developing and maintaining browser extensions.

  • Demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.

  • Strong background building enterprise-grade RESTful APIs and working with NoSQL databases.

  • Exceptional problem-solving ability and proactive architectural planning skills.

  • Outstanding communication and collaboration capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI/ML technologies and data analysis tools.

  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.

  • Experience with agile methodologies and fast-paced startup environments.

  • Active participation in open-source projects or technical communities.

  • Background in healthcare technology or clinical documentation systems.

  • History of building independent projects from start to finish.

Compensation & Benefits
