Senior Full-Stack Engineer
Summary
Complyance, a VC-backed AI-native enterprise GRC platform, is hiring a senior backend-focused full-stack engineer in Poland to own features end to end — building TypeScript/Node.js services, PostgreSQL data models, GraphQL APIs, long-running workflows, and React UIs, using tools like Hasura, Temporal, AWS, and Terraform.
Complyance is a fully AI-native, end-to-end platform for Enterprise GRC. We are backed by leading VC firms including Google Ventures, Creandum, and HV Capital, and we’re in our hyper growth phase building a category-defining business in the governance, risk, and compliance space.
With customers like Major League Soccer, CVS Health, Dropbox, Penn State, O’Reilly Auto Parts, and more, Complyance re-defines how complex enterprises manage GRC. The platform offers deep, configurable core modules paired with customizable AI agents that automate entire manual workflows. From controls management (incl. audit prep), to risk management, third-party risk, policies, and trust, Complyance shortens cycle times by >80%, cuts manual work by >60%, and increases visibility over risk. Our clients start seeing cost savings and risk reduction within 3 months.
The role
We are looking for a senior full-stack engineer with strong product oriented mindset whose strongest area is backend engineering. Most of your work will involve TypeScript services, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, long-running workflows, and third-party integrations. You should be comfortable working in React and able to ship a feature from the data model through to the user interface.
What you’ll do
- Own product capabilities from technical design through release and production support.
- Design and build backend services using TypeScript and Node.js.
- Model data in PostgreSQL and build secure GraphQL and REST APIs.
- Understand infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and explain tradeoffs clearly, and turn unclear requirements into a workable plan.
- Build reliable background jobs and long-running workflows, including retries, idempotency, and failure recovery.
- Integrate with third-party services using APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and scheduled processes.
- Protect customer data through clear authorization, tenant isolation, and careful handling of sensitive information.
- Work closely with Product Design to turn customer problems into practical technical solutions.
- Investigate production problems using logs, monitoring, and data.
- Write tests, review code, and improve the structure and maintainability of the monorepo.
- Write down important technical decisions and keep the relevant product and engineering specs current.
- Help other engineers grow through thoughtful reviews, pairing, and mentoring.
- TypeScript and Node.js
- React
- GraphQL
- PostgreSQL and pgvector
- Vitest and Playwright
- Hasura
- NX monorepo
- Temporal
- AWS and Terraform
- Datadog and PostHog
What success looks like
In your first few months, you will ship meaningful work across the backend and frontend, learn the main product domains, and become comfortable with our data and permission model.
Over time, you will become a trusted owner of an important part of the platform. You will be able to shape technical work, make sound tradeoffs, handle production issues, and raise the quality of the engineers around you.
