About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to lead the development of our Agent Analytics product and contribute to the wider backend and data infrastructure of an AI search visibility platform.

The platform helps brands understand how they appear across AI search engines, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity.

You'll take ownership of high-volume data pipelines, scalable storage architecture, APIs, and backend services, ensuring the platform remains fast and reliable as data grows to tens of millions of events.

What You'll Do

• Own and optimize data ingestion pipelines, storage, and analytics rollups.
• Design scalable storage architecture for high-volume crawler events.
• Build CDN and hosting log integrations to identify AI crawlers.
• Contribute to AI answer collection and processing pipelines.
• Develop backend APIs and data services, including Google Search Console integrations.
• Improve platform performance, query efficiency, and infrastructure costs.
• Collaborate on technical architecture and future product direction.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of engineering experience, including at least 2 years working on a production SaaS product.
• Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience building and operating high-volume data or log pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, analytics rollups, and aggregation.
• Experience with MongoDB, Cloudflare Workers and R2, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of AWS, GCP, HTTP, CDNs, and web crawler behaviour.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and overlap with UK working hours for at least 4 hours daily.

Nice to Have

• ClickHouse, DuckDB, or BigQuery.
• Google Search Console API.
• LLM-based classification in production.
• Python and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CDK.
• Experience with web analytics or bot management products.
