Senior Full Stack Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) cloud modernization and innovation initiatives. This role combines hands-on software engineering with solution development, supporting existing applications while helping design and deliver new capabilities across the CMS technology ecosystem.

The ideal candidate is a versatile engineer who can independently develop and deliver solutions, collaborate with architects and stakeholders, and translate emerging business and technical needs into practical, scalable implementations.

Must be USC/GC/EAD with ability to obtain a public trust clearance

Prefer local candidates but will consider remote

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full stack applications and cloud-based solutions.
• Build AI-enabled applications, integrate large language models (LLMs), and develop automated workflows.
• Develop APIs, backend services, databases, user interfaces, and reusable integration components.
• Contribute to solution development, technical recommendations, prototypes, and proofs of concept for emerging CMS initiatives.
• Collaborate with architects, technical teams, and stakeholders to translate business needs into practical technical approaches.
• Apply secure coding, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices to support reliable, maintainable application delivery.
• Own engineering deliverables from design through implementation, code quality validation, documentation, and operational transition.
