Senior Full Stack Engineer (Python + React)

Summary

Build a real-time, AI-driven product end-to-end using Python/Django and React/TypeScript, spanning the UI, streaming layer, and backend.

What You'll Do

We're looking for someone genuinely exceptional: not broadly experienced, but specifically excellent in a way you can name and prove. This role is for the kind of engineer who has already changed how they work because of AI, who takes a feature from spec to production end to end, and who makes good calls without waiting for every decision to be routed through someone else.

You'll build a real time, AI driven product experience end to end: the interface users interact with, the streaming layer underneath it, and the backend that keeps everything in sync. The patterns here are still being written and the failure modes are new, so judgment matters more than precedent. You'll move between Python/Django and React/TypeScript depending on where the problem actually lives.

What We're Looking For

Strong full stack depth is the starting point. Beyond that, we're looking at whether AI has genuinely changed how you build, and what you learned from taking an LLM-backed experience into production.

You must bring:

  • 5+ years of hands on experience as a full stack engineer, comfortable owning both sides of a feature

  • Evidence that AI has changed how you work, visible in what you've built and how you build it, not just in the tools you've tried

  • Strong, current Django and DRF experience: models, serializers, permissions, API design

  • Strong React and TypeScript experience: component architecture, state management, building real UI, not just wiring up a design

  • Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into applications that shipped and stayed shipped

  • Experience with WebSockets or other real time, streaming architectures

  • Experience with Celery and async or background job processing

  • Solid PostgreSQL: schema design, migrations, query performance

  • A quality mindset: clean code, good documentation, thoughtful testing, on both ends of the stack

  • Strong communication and async collaboration skills, and a proactive approach to problems

Bonus points for having brought LLM practice into a team rather than just your own work, experience with streaming chat interfaces and conversational state, and Django Channels specifically rather than WebSockets in the abstract.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Real impact. You'll work on a product where the experience you build is the product, not a layer on top of one.

  • An outstanding team. Talented, kind, hard working people who care about their craft and about each other. No egos, no politics.

  • Growth. You'll be supported in growing your craft and stepping into greater responsibility, at your own pace.

  • A culture of excellence. No burnout, no crunch. Just high quality work, delivered sustainably.

  • Variety and stability. We're profitable, independent, and over two decades strong. Every project still brings a fresh challenge.

This Role Might Not Be for You

We want to respect your time by being clear about what this role isn't. You should skip this opportunity if:

  • You prefer well defined structure. If you gravitate toward a clear hierarchy and defined swim lanes, our self-managed style may be a stretch.

  • Distributed work isn't your thing. If async communication and being proactive without a manager nearby feels hard, this setup won't suit you.

  • Feedback doesn't excite you. We're obsessed with quality and give feedback that's sometimes nitpicky.

  • Change makes you uncomfortable. We're scaling and maturing, priorities shift and processes evolve.

If this sounds like fuel, we'd love to talk.
