Senior Full-Stack Engineer

What we're looking for

In this role, you will help design, build, and maintain our external and internal web applications. Our web and backend infrastructure uses a mixture of JavaScript and Python web frameworks including NextJS and Django. If you have a strong background in these technologies and a passion for building high-quality software, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain public and internal web and backend applications using JavaScript, Python, and SQL along with frameworks such as React, NextJS, TanStack, NodeJS, and Django
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features
• Complete medium to large features (each with many tasks) independently without guidance
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to best practices
• Proactively identify and drive changes as needed across all product areas
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues
• Participate in code and design reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and product quality
• Provide strategic insight and technical guidance on how to architect our code base to support our user base as we scale product features

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in full-stack development
• Proficiency in JavaScript, with relevant experience using React
• Proficiency in Python
• Experience with SQL
• Strong understanding of web application architecture, design patterns, and best practices
• Solid knowledge of version control systems (e.g. Git)
• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools and processes
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
• Availability for meetings from Monday to Thursday between 8am and 12pm Eastern

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NextJS and/or TanStack
• Experience with Django
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL
• Experience with mobile development using React Native

Interview Process

Our interview process for this role consists of three stages:

1. 60-minute technical screener, including a live coding problem
2. 60-minute technical interview diving into more depth than the screener and also including a live coding problem
3. 60-minute culture fit interview focused on situational scenarios and personal perspectives
