Overview
Senior Full-Stack/Software Developer – Business Transformation & Intelligence (BTI) team. Responsible for designing the core platform (Factored OS) that enables internal teams to ship and maintain tools efficiently.
Functional Responsibilities
- High Autonomy / High Impact: sole software-focused role in BTI with significant influence over engineering culture.
- Foundation & Architecture: architect a modular, maintainable full-stack application that serves as Factored OS.
- Technical Strategy & Selection: lead evaluation and selection of languages, frameworks, and infrastructure for the platform.
- Technical Mentorship: mentor and pair with a junior engineer, reviewing code and setting technical direction.
- Security & Access Control: design RBAC to protect sensitive engineer and candidate data.
- Documentation & Onboarding: maintain architecture, tech stack, and infrastructure docs; build onboarding path for new contributors.
- CI/CD & Guardrails: build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, linting, and deployment guardrails.
- Remote & Agile: work in a fast-paced, remote-first environment that prioritizes shipping to learn.
- Operational Integration: implement bi‑directional API integrations with Greenhouse, HiBob, and Jira.
- Product Discovery & Shaping: collaborate with a Product Manager to translate business needs into technical specs.
- Performance & Scale: develop a high‑performance search and discovery engine for the talent pool (Engineer 360).
Qualifications
- Senior Engineer (8+ Years): proven track record of building, deploying, and maintaining full‑stack, scalable applications.
- Startup‑Native Mindset: experience building from zero in early‑stage environments.
- Leadership: experience formally mentoring or supervising a junior/mid‑level engineer.
- Security Fundamentals: experience with OAuth2, JWT, RBAC and handling sensitive PII securely.
- Strong Data Foundations: deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL architectures; able to justify trade‑offs.
- System Design: expertise in modular architectures that avoid spaghetti code.
- Backend Framework: proficiency in Node.js/TypeScript, Python/FastAPI, or equivalent with REST API design.
- Frontend Framework: proficiency in React/Next.js or equivalent with component‑driven architecture.
- Cloud & CI/CD: experience with AWS/GCP/Azure hosting, automated pipelines.
- Event‑Driven Architectures: queues, pub/sub, webhooks at scale.
Skills & Abilities
- Architectural Decision Making: evaluate third‑party tools vs custom solutions.
- High‑Stakes Communication: translate complex technical plans into clear roadmaps for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Incremental Delivery: break down large goals into prioritized technical tasks.
- Bi‑Directional Integration: manage state synchronization across external systems.
