Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

You'll join the Martech Squad, building the platforms and integrations that power how Dave reaches, engages, and retains its members. You'll design, build, and maintain backend code in Typescript to support features used by millions of users. You'll regularly participate in code reviews and other team functions, provide technical leadership, and help guide the team's overall technical direction. You'll mentor and pair with other engineers regularly, and work closely with the PM and design teams to define feature specifications and build products using frameworks like React.js and React Native.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the backend code to support features used by 5 million users
• Develop backend features in Typescript
• Participate in code reviews and other team functions
• Provide technical leadership and help guide the team's overall technical direction
• Mentor and pair with other engineers regularly
• Work closely with PM and design teams to define feature specifications and build products using React.js and React Native

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or above) in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of software engineering experience building full stack applications
• Strong CS fundamentals and problem-solving skills
• Experience programming in one or more general-purpose languages including JavaScript, Java, Python, C/C++ or Go
• Experience using a modern UI framework to build user-focused interfaces
• Effective communication skills, a positive attitude, and ability to give and receive constructive feedback
• Understanding of monitoring and metric tools
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Ability to discuss and explain system architecture and component design
• Proven ability to work as part of a team
• Experience with Node.js (nice to have)
• Experience building production mobile applications in React Native (nice to have)
• Experience working in a start-up environment (nice to have)
