Summary

Hands-on technical lead (co-founder track) at SourceIQ, an early-stage AI-native supplier intelligence and sourcing SaaS for enterprise procurement. You inherit and evolve the platform architecture, mentor the existing team while staying hands-on in the codebase, and advise leadership — built on a JavaScript/TypeScript stack (React/Next.js, Node.js, Azure) with equity-only compensation (2–6%).

Compensation: 2.0% – 6.0%

The Role: We are looking for a hands-on senior engineering leader who will inherit an existing early-stage enterprise SaaS platform and technical team. You will help stabilize and evolve the architecture, raise engineering standards, improve delivery predictability and testing, mentor the technical team, advise leadership on technical decisions, and prepare SourceIQ’s application platform for enterprise scale. See the specific job specifications below. **CORE ATTRIBUTES** What You Bring to The Table Following are the core attributes that will contribute to your success in this role: • Leader - You enjoy leading and developing team members with credibility, clarity, and good judgment. You mentor without micromanaging and thrive in a low-ego, high-trust environment. • Adaptability - You’re equally comfortable reviewing architecture, helping an engineer work through a problem, setting development priorities, and communicating tradeoffs to nontechnical leadership. • Technical Judgment — You stay current with emerging technologies but evaluate them pragmatically. You know when a new tool creates leverage and when simplicity is the better engineering decision. • Ownership — You take responsibility for technical outcomes, not just code. When architecture, process, quality, or delivery break down, you identify the root cause and drive the team toward a sustainable solution. • Inquisitive – You ask questions, uncover insights, and dig deeper to get all the facts. You are interested and use your curious nature to your advantage, helping bring technology solutions to business problems • Pragmatism — You understand the constraints of an early-stage company and know how to balance enterprise-grade architecture with speed, available resources, and business priorities. **JOB DUTIES ** What You Can Expect Day-to-Day While no one day is the same, the following are some of the ongoing tasks you'll own: • Own and evolve SourceIQ’s application and platform architecture, ensuring it supports the company’s product roadmap, enterprise requirements, scalability, security, and business priorities. • Provide technical guidance to the founder and leadership team, clearly communicating architectural decisions, technical tradeoffs, risks, and resource needs. • Mentor and provide technical direction to the existing technology team, remaining hands-on in critical areas of the codebase • Help evaluate and onboard additional technical talent. • Partner with Data Engineering to ensure ingestion, enrichment, deduplication and canonical supplier mapping integrate cleanly with application services and downstream AI/search capabilities. • Translate product priorities into technical plans and sprint-ready work to provide effective product development • Improve development processes, documentation, testing and deployment practices • Understand and collaborate on the complete product lifecycle from concept to execution • Partner with Security and Product to ensure tenant isolation, RBAC, authentication, auditability, data protection, and enterprise security requirements are incorporated into technical design and delivery. • Work closely with Product, Data Engineering, AI, Security, Operations, Business Development, and other business functions to translate company priorities and customer requirements into scalable technical solutions. **QUALIFICATIONS **What it Takes Minimum Required: • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience in senior or technical leadership roles. • Experience leading developers, mentoring engineers, reviewing code, establishing engineering practices, and coordinating technical delivery. • Strong experience building modern JavaScript/TypeScript full-stack applications using technologies such as React/Next.js and Node.js frameworks such as NestJS or Express. • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure. • Experience with REST APIs, document databases such as Cosmos DB or MongoDB, CI/CD, automated testing, authentication, RBAC, and secure application design. • Experience designing, building, or operating multi-tenant SaaS systems, including tenant isolation and customer-specific data controls. • Experience evolving software architecture, managing technical debt, and developing technical roadmaps that support business and product priorities. • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in an early-stage or rapidly changing environment. Preferred: • Enterprise B2B SaaS • Cloud-native application architecture • AI-enabled SaaS, semantic/vector search, or recommendation systems • Databricks or modern data-platform experience • Enterprise integrations and API ecosystems • Procurement, sourcing, supply-chain, or supplier-management technology **Commitment & Compensation:** This is a full-time, equity-only position requiring a 40-hour-per-week commitment. The role does not currently include cash compensation, salary, or traditional employee benefits. The anticipated equity range is 2%–6%, with the final grant determined based on experience, technical leadership capabilities, scope of responsibility, and long-term fit with SourceIQ. Equity will be subject to the company’s applicable vesting terms, approvals, and definitive agreements. **About Source IQ:** SourceIQ is building an AI-native Supplier Intelligence & Sourcing Operating System for enterprise procurement. The platform combines a growing supplier intelligence and data layer with tenant-specific procurement workflows, enabling enterprises to discover, evaluate, engage, onboard, and manage suppliers while maintaining private budgets, approvals, performance data, and internal workflows. AI-powered search, matching, ranking, and supplier intelligence help turn fragmented supplier data into actionable procurement decisions. SourceIQ is an equal opportunity employer. **
