Senior Fullstack Developer – Test Development Focus
Jeppesen ForeFlight is a leading software development organization based in Gothenburg, specializing in advanced resource management and optimization solutions for the global aviation industry. Our products support some of the world’s largest airlines, and we are committed to continuous improvement and delivering measurable value to our customers.
At our centrally located Gothenburg office, you will join a unique software development environment where your work has real-world impact. You’ll be part of an agile, learning-focused organization alongside talented, creative, and dedicated colleagues. With over 400 professionals representing more than 50 nationalities, we offer a truly international workplace, combined with opportunities to collaborate globally with customers and teams. Most importantly, you will be empowered to make a meaningful difference.
Help us build quality into every release
Do you get real satisfaction from making software reliable — maybe more these days than from writing the next feature? Do you like trying to break things before customers do? And are you still a capable developer who enjoys being hands-on in the code? Then read on.
We're looking for a senior developer who will make software quality their craft and help our Tracking team build quality into everything we ship. You'll work across the stack and stay hands-on in code — but your real focus and depth is strengthening our automated testing, quality practices and engineering confidence, and leading the team there.
Who you are
Think T-shaped: broad, dependable software-development skills, with real depth in testing and quality. Perhaps you've spent years as a developer and your passion has tilted — from shipping features to owning software quality — but your coding ability hasn't gone anywhere, and you still write solid code every day. You see quality problems and propose the way forward, to the team and to the architects, and you can get others to understand where we're heading and the steps to get there.
What you'll do
- Drive the team's quality and test strategy — see the problems, propose the path, and bring the team and architects with you.
- Actively probe and stress the product to find weaknesses early — treat breaking it as part of building it.
- Stay hands-on: develop and maintain software with Java and Spring Boot, with a strong emphasis on testability and maintainability.
- Design, implement and improve automated tests across layers (unit, integration, API, end-to-end) and in CI/CD flows.
- Contribute to frontend development in Eclipse RCP, in an environment that also includes Angular or React.
- Work with AWS-based systems and Kubernetes-influenced delivery pipelines, enabling reliable, efficient testing.
- Collaborate with developers, product and stakeholders to build quality in early.
- Explore and apply AI to improve testing, productivity and product capabilities.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation (~1 week every 6–8 weeks).
What we're looking for
- A genuine passion for software quality and test development — you want this to be your focus, not a side task.
- Still a capable, hands-on developer (T-shaped): you code day to day, with your depth in testing and quality.
- A drive to lead on quality: seeing problems and setting the way forward, aligning the team and architects.
- Senior software-development experience with Java, preferably Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and maintaining automated tests at multiple levels (unit, integration, API, end-to-end).
- Experience with Eclipse RCP, or readiness to work in it alongside Angular/React.
- Production experience with AWS; awareness of modern CI/CD and Kubernetes-based pipelines.
- Good Python for scripting/tooling/automation, and strong Linux skills (debugging, service troubleshooting).
- Comfortable with a 24/7 on-call rotation.
It's a plus if you also have
- Built internal test frameworks or tooling.
- Hands-on Kubernetes / Helm; containerised-environment troubleshooting.
- Observability, production quality metrics and reliability thinking.
- Used AI in testing, development workflows or quality analysis.
- Secure software development and quality practices in large or complex systems.
Good to know
This isn't a heads-down, feature-factory role — and it isn't a role for someone who wants to stop coding. It's for a hands-on developer who wants quality to be their craft and is ready to lead the team there.
You'll work in a collaborative fullstack environment
where quality is a shared responsibility and your ideas shape how we build, test and release. Apply via the posting or reach out directly — we review on a rolling basis and move quickly for the right person.
