This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer | Emerging Products based in the United States.

This is a senior engineering opportunity focused on building new, data-intensive products from the ground up.
The role is primarily backend-oriented, with Java and Kotlin at its core, while also contributing to modern React and TypeScript experiences.
You’ll work closely with data platform, reporting, product, design, and engineering teams to turn complex data into actionable customer experiences.
You’ll have significant ownership across the full product lifecycle, from architecture and implementation through deployment, observability, and production support.
The environment emphasizes scalable systems, API-first architecture, performance, reliability, and thoughtful technical design.
You’ll also have the opportunity to use AI-assisted development tools to increase engineering productivity and accelerate delivery.
This is a strong fit for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and building products at enterprise scale.

Accountabilities:

  • Design and build scalable API and serving layers using REST and/or GraphQL to expose data, insights, and analytics efficiently to applications.
  • Develop high-performance backend services primarily with Java and Kotlin, applying API-first architecture and emphasizing reliability, extensibility, and scalability.
  • Build data-driven product experiences that transform large volumes of operational and analytical data into insights, scoring, dashboards, workflows, and other customer-facing capabilities.
  • Design and optimize data-access patterns across APIs, relational databases, caching layers, and analytical data sources to support demanding enterprise workloads.
  • Develop and maintain React and TypeScript user experiences, including dashboards, forms, workflows, status indicators, and drill-down interfaces.
  • Establish clear, maintainable contracts and boundaries between frontend applications, APIs, and backend services.
  • Participate in architecture and technical design reviews as products evolve from early development through general availability and enterprise-scale adoption.
  • Identify and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks across backend services, APIs, databases, data-access patterns, and frontend applications.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues across the full technology stack using logs, metrics, traces, query analysis, browser debugging, and other observability tools.
  • Implement frontend observability and telemetry to monitor application errors, performance, and customer experience in production.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools and techniques to improve engineering productivity and accelerate product delivery.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of features, from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
  • Participate in code reviews, document technical decisions and processes, and contribute to broader engineering initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
    • 10+ years of software development experience building production applications, with strong expertise in Java; Kotlin experience is advantageous.
    • 4+ years of experience designing and operating highly scalable software systems.
    • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, OOP design principles, data structures, and software design.
    • Demonstrated experience developing REST and/or GraphQL services, with knowledge of API design best practices; gRPC experience is a plus.
    • Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write, analyze, and troubleshoot queries, along with experience in relational database design and development.
    • Advanced understanding of software quality and testing practices, including unit, integration, API, and frontend testing.
    • At least 2 years of experience with React and modern frontend application development.
    • Strong TypeScript and JavaScript fundamentals, including the ability to establish reusable contracts and clear boundaries across application layers.
    • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, browser fundamentals, and accessibility beyond working solely within a React framework.
    • Experience creating reusable React components and working within established frontend architectures and data-flow patterns.
    • Ability to diagnose frontend issues involving rendering, networking, state management, and browser behavior.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
    • Experience using AI tools and techniques to accelerate software development and improve engineering efficiency.
    • Strong ownership mindset, curiosity, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative product-development environment.
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive base salary, with a hiring range of $150,000–$200,000 per year for roles based in California, Colorado, New Jersey, New York, or Washington.
      • Compensation determined based on factors including location, market conditions, experience, knowledge, and relevant technical skills.
      • Full-time flexible hybrid/remote work opportunities for eligible employees.
      • Remote work available from home for eligible candidates residing in CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, ME, MA, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, or WA.

      • Unlimited paid time off to support work-life balance.
      • Opportunities for professional growth, career development, and advancement.
      • Collaborative, supportive, and curious engineering culture.
      • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
      • Candidates may be asked to participate in an in-person interview at any stage of the hiring process.
