Senior Fullstack Java & React Developer

Senior fullstack developer joining an international tech hub in Lisbon (twice a week onsite in Oriente): builds REST APIs with Java/Spring Boot, front-ends with React/Next.js, and contributes to architecture decisions, code reviews, testing, documentation, and CI/CD. We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer to join a dynamic, international Tech Hub based in Lisbon. As a Senior, you will work under broad direction, acting as a technical reference contributing to architecture decisions, code reviews, and ensuring quality through best practices and testing methodologies. We value generalizing-specialists: adaptable developers who are enthusiastic about exploring a variety of technologies and roles beyond a single stack.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as a key contributor to architecture decisions and code reviews.
- Implement REST APIs and perform back-end development with Java and Spring Boot.
- Engage in troubleshooting, bug fixing, and code optimization.
- Use version control systems to manage code effectively.
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests.
- Produce technical documentation to support development processes.
- Implement DevOps practices and CI/CD workflows.
- Contribute to front-end development using React and Next.js.
Key Requirements
- Back-end development with Java / Spring Boot
- Spring Boot Framework
- REST API design and implementation
- SQL and relational databases (MS SQL Server or equivalent RDBMS)
- Version control with GIT
- Writing unit and integration tests
- Troubleshooting, bug fixing, and code optimization
- Technical documentation (Confluence, IcePanel)
- DevOps practices: CI/CD, GitHub workflows and actions
- Maven or equivalent package manager
- Front-end development with React, Next.js
Nice to Have
- Hibernate / JPA or equivalent ORM
- Application architecture: Microservices, Hexagonal Architecture, Event-driven Architecture, etc.
- AWS or other cloud platforms
