About Liquidnitro
Games
Liquidnitro Games is a game
development company built to create, launch, and scale ambitious games for a
global audience.
Founded by industry veterans with
deep experience across free-to-play, live services, and large-scale game
production agnostic of platforms, we bring together product thinking, design
craft, engineering depth, art execution, data, and live operations under one
roof.
We build games from the ground up,
take new ideas from 0 to 1, and work with select partners to strengthen, scale,
and operate high-quality game experiences.
Our teams combine creative
ownership with production discipline, helping projects move from early
prototypes to validated products, and from launch to long-term growth.
At Liquidnitro, we are building the
next generation of game teams, products, and tools from India for the global
games industry.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Game
Designer to join our Founders Office and play a central role in shaping new
game development opportunities, live services partnerships and product
strategies for some of the world’s leading
publishers and entertainment companies.
You will be part of the first line
of game design leadership working directly with Liquidnitro’s
founders, sales function, product managers and strategic partnership leaders to
identify opportunities, evaluate games, develop compelling product visions and
build pitches that win the confidence of potential partners.
A significant part of this role
involves evaluating existing live games, understanding their performance and
player experience, identifying opportunities for improvement and articulating
how Liquidnitro could unlock their potential through product strategy, game
design and live operations.
Equally, you will help conceive and
shape new games, develop compelling gameplay concepts, create prototypes and
build persuasive narratives around why these opportunities are worth pursuing.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership
role that combines game design, product thinking, strategic analysis and
storytelling. We are looking for someone who can form an independent point of
view, challenge assumptions and confidently communicate a vision to senior
internal and external stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
1. Evaluate Live
Games and Shape Takeover Opportunities
• Evaluate
existing live games to identify opportunities to improve player engagement,
retention, progression, monetization and long-term product performance.
• Conduct
detailed game teardowns covering core gameplay, player journeys, economies,
content systems, live events and competitive positioning.
• Identify
product weaknesses, untapped potential and opportunities to unlock incremental
growth.
• Develop
a clear product point of view on what should change, why it matters and how
those changes could improve the game’s trajectory.
• Work
with product managers and analytics teams to interpret available game
performance data, player feedback and market benchmarks.
• Develop
product improvement strategies and prioritized roadmaps for prospective live
services takeovers.
• Help
demonstrate Liquidnitro’s
understanding of a game’s players,
product challenges and future potential.
2. Build Winning
Live Services and New Game Pitches
• Work
closely with founders, sales, product managers and strategic partnership
leaders to develop compelling pitches for potential partners.
• Translate
product opportunities into clear, persuasive stories explaining the potential
we see and how Liquidnitro can unlock it.
• Develop
game design strategies, product visions, competitive analyses and improvement
proposals that form the foundation of client-facing presentations.
• Create
compelling pitch materials using gameplay references, visualizations,
wireframes, concept art, prototypes and product roadmaps.
• Connect
design recommendations to player outcomes, product KPIs and commercial
potential.
• Participate
in partner conversations, product reviews, pitch presentations and follow-up
discussions.
• Confidently
defend design recommendations, explain product trade-offs and respond to
challenging questions from senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate
with sales and strategic partnerships teams to ensure pitches balance creative
ambition, execution feasibility and commercial credibility.
3. Develop New
Game Concepts and Product Opportunities
• Work
with founders and product leadership to identify and evaluate opportunities for
new game development.
• Develop
original game concepts across genres, platforms, audiences and business models.
• Define
core gameplay loops, mechanics, progression systems, player motivations and
product differentiation.
• Evaluate
concepts against competitive products, market opportunities, player
expectations and development feasibility.
• Create
concept documents, gameplay treatments, game design proposals and high-level
product visions.
• Collaborate
with artists and engineers to develop rapid prototypes, gameplay demonstrations
and visual concepts.
• Iterate
quickly based on internal feedback, partner expectations, market research and
playtesting.
4. Drive Game
Teardowns, Research and Competitive Intelligence
• Play,
study and critically evaluate games across mobile, PC, console and emerging
platforms.
• Deconstruct
successful games to understand their design systems, player motivations,
economies, content strategies and business models.
• Research
market trends, emerging genres, player behaviors and competitive dynamics.
• Identify
opportunities for product differentiation, geo-adaptation, content expansion
and live services improvement.
• Translate
research into practical design insights and recommendations rather than
descriptive reports.
• Develop
structured teardown frameworks and reusable research approaches that help
accelerate future opportunities.
• Maintain
strong awareness of changing player expectations, successful game mechanics and
industry developments.
5. Develop Product
Strategy and Improvement Roadmaps
• Work
with product managers to translate design insights into actionable product
strategies.
• Identify
the highest-impact opportunities for improving a game’s
player experience and commercial performance.
• Develop
feature concepts, gameplay improvements, progression changes, economy
recommendations and content strategies.
• Prioritize
recommendations based on expected player impact, effort, feasibility and
business value.
• Develop
short-, medium- and long-term product improvement plans for prospective
partnerships.
• Clearly
articulate the reasoning, expected impact, assumptions and risks behind
recommendations.
• Support
opportunity assessments and early execution planning so proposed strategies can
realistically transition into development.
6. Provide
First-Line Game Design Leadership
• Act
as a senior design thought partner to founders, product managers, sales and
strategic partnership leaders.
• Take
ownership of design thinking and creative quality across assigned
opportunities.
• Guide
and review the work of junior designers and other contributors supporting
teardowns, concepts, research and pitch development.
• Establish
high standards for game design reasoning, quality of analysis, creative
originality and presentation.
• Help
teams move from ambiguous briefs to well-structured opportunities, clear design
directions and compelling proposals.
• Work
across multiple opportunities while maintaining quality, speed and attention to
detail.
• Bring
independent opinions, constructive challenges and strong recommendations to
leadership discussions.
• Help
develop frameworks, templates and working practices that improve the quality
and efficiency of our opportunity development process.
What We’re Looking For
Must Have
• 5–10
years of professional experience in game design, with strong exposure to
free-to-play games and live services.
• Deep
understanding of core gameplay loops, player motivations, progression,
economies, engagement, retention and monetization.
• Experience
working on commercially launched games, preferably including live games with
ongoing content and feature development.
• Demonstrated
ability to critically evaluate games and identify meaningful opportunities for
improvement.
• Strong
understanding of how design decisions influence product KPIs and player
behavior.
• Ability
to translate game analysis into clear product recommendations, creative
strategies and compelling presentations.
• Excellent
communication, storytelling and presentation skills, including the ability to
engage with senior stakeholders.
• Strong
visual communication skills using PowerPoint, Figma, Miro or similar tools.
• Ability
to independently own design-related workstreams from an ambiguous opportunity
brief through to a polished proposal.
• Broad
gaming knowledge across genres, platforms and business models.
• Ability
to work collaboratively with product managers, sales, production, engineering,
art and business leadership.
• Strong
ownership mindset, sound judgment and ability to manage multiple priorities in
a fast-moving environment.
Good to Have
• Experience
developing live services strategies, game turnaround plans or product
improvement roadmaps.
• Experience
participating in game pitches, publishing discussions, partner presentations or
greenlight reviews.
• Experience
contributing to the development of new games from concept through prototyping
and launch.
• Experience
working with product analytics, cohort analysis, player segmentation or A/B
testing.
• Familiarity
with game economy modeling, live events, content calendars and F2P monetization
systems.
• Experience
building playable prototypes using Unity, Unreal Engine or other rapid
prototyping tools.
• Experience
working across both mobile F2P and PC/console games.
• Experience
developing products based on licensed IPs or established game franchises.
• Familiarity
with AI-assisted workflows for research, ideation, prototyping and presentation
development.
• Experience
mentoring junior game designers or leading small design workstreams.
