Senior Graphic Designer
Description
Senior Graphic Designer – Retail, FMCG & Print Production
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Graphic Designer with a strong background in physical retail design, FMCG/CPG branding, and large-scale print production.
The ideal candidate will lead the development of high-impact retail activations, in-store Point-of-Sale (POS) displays, product packaging, trade event stands, and large-format print materials.
This role requires a highly skilled designer who can independently manage projects from initial creative concepts and 3D visualizations through technical artwork preparation and final production. The successful candidate will also oversee quality control and delegate routine design rollouts and resizing tasks to junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
1. Retail Activations & Point-of-Sale (POS) Design – 40%
Design impactful physical retail displays, including Free Standing Display Units (FSDUs), counter displays, end-cap headers, shelf-talkers, and wobblers.
Develop realistic 3D mockups and spatial renders for stakeholder and retail buyer presentations.
Create visually engaging designs that enhance product appeal, brand recognition, and in-store visibility.
Ensure all retail materials align with brand guidelines and production requirements.
2. Large-Format Graphics & Event Activations – 25%
Design promotional pop-ups, trade show stands, exhibition booths, media walls, and retail window graphics.
Prepare large-format artwork based on exact architectural and structural dimensions.
Consider appropriate substrates, viewing distances, print resolutions, and installation requirements.
Ensure designs are suitable for fabrication and installation.
3. Technical Pre-Press & Dieline Production – 25%
Prepare accurate, print-ready artwork based on supplier dielines and production specifications.
Manage knife lines, folds, bleeds, margins, mechanical tolerances, and technical layouts.
Apply accurate color profiling, spot colors, separations, and overprint settings.
Specify special print finishes, including spot UV, foil stamping, and varnishes.
Coordinate with commercial printers and fabrication vendors to review proofs and resolve production issues.
Maintain quality control to prevent printing errors, misalignment, and unnecessary production costs.
4. Project Ownership & Junior Delegation – 10%
Lead major design projects from initial briefing through final production and delivery.
Manage project timelines and ensure all deliverables meet agreed deadlines.
Delegate routine artwork adaptations, resizing, and collateral rollouts to junior designers or interns.
Review and quality-check delegated work before submission.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers throughout the production process.
Target Performance Metrics
Print Accuracy: Zero printer rejections, technical reprint costs, or dieline alignment errors.
3D Mockup Turnaround: Initial concept visualizations delivered within 3–4 business days of receiving the brief.
Revision Efficiency: Design approvals achieved within two rounds of feedback.
Campaign Delivery: 100% on-time delivery of retail promotions, product launches, and seasonal event materials.
Requirements
Non-Negotiable Requirements
Candidates must meet all the following qualifications to be considered:
5+ years of professional graphic design experience in an agency or in-house consumer brand environment, with a strong focus on physical design production.
3+ years of CPG/FMCG industry experience, particularly with food, beverage, confectionery, or consumer product brands.
4+ years of technical print and pre-press experience, including dielines, knife lines, bleeds, margins, folds, Pantone/PMS colors, and large-format print production.
2+ years of 3D modeling and visualization experience, specifically for retail displays, FSDUs, counter units, and exhibition stands.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
A portfolio demonstrating actual fabricated work, including physical retail activations, packaging, POS displays, and event installations.
Strong understanding of retail fabrication materials, printing processes, and production costs.
