In this role, you must comprehend Group Benefits, multiple systems, various administration types, product offerings, customized plan designs, and contracts. Precise and efficient group/account/member setup across three systems is required due to the unique factors in the plan offerings. This includes problem solving beginning with understanding the requirements, available options, and workarounds to ensure the intended outcome is achieved. You’ll serve as second-level support to resolve questions for issues escalated by Group Client Service Centre and action reporting outlining incorrect records including those that are completed through the Upload. You will provide direction and advice on New Sales and Amendments. Additionally, you will be the central point of problem resolution, overseeing issues for Group Benefits Teams and external clients.


How you will create impact:

  • Comprehend Group Benefits, various administration types, product offerings, and contracts to accurately setup group/account/member records across three systems with unique factors in plan designs.
  • You are responsible to problem solve, understand, and explain customized Group Benefit plans, available options, and workarounds to ensure a seamless integration of the members into our systems, ultimately achieving the intended outcome.
  • Provide direction and advice on the requirements of New Sales, and amendments to ensure technical compatibility with the administration and claims paying systems along with investigating missing or conflicting information.
  • Correspond with clients to solution and resolve member coverage errors while fully understanding current system limitations, providing client education. Determine and solution financial impacts to both the client and Cooperators.
  • Collaborate with Disability Case Managers to determine waiver referrals. Collaborate with Group Medical Underwriting to approve or decline applications.
  • Central point of problem resolution, overseeing issues for Group Benefits Teams and external clients.
  • Provide knowledge and expertise on the interpretation of eligibility guidelines and processes.
  • Apply Lean principles to increase productivity and decrease wait times to provide exceptional customer service.

To join our team:

  • 3 years of experience in Group Benefits
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or other related discipline
  • GBA Designation or working towards GBA, CEBS or other service-related designation is considered an asset

Expected salary range $50,280 - $83,800

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.​​

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
