Summary

Core technologies: Altium/ECAD PCB design, C/C++ embedded programming, ARM Cortex/PIC microcontrollers, and lab debug equipment.

Our client is looking for an experienced Hardware Design Engineer to join a growing Research & Development team, leading the design and development of innovative electronic hardware and embedded software products. You’ll drive projects from concept through to production, ensuring designs meet customer specifications, quality standards and regulatory requirements.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead end-to-end research, design, integration, and testing of new electronic hardware and embedded software solutions, meeting international standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, quality, supply chain) and external partners to resolve design challenges.
  • Prepare production data packs (drawings, BOMs, specifications) and support the transition of new designs into manufacturing.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate performance, safety and reliability, and drive products through qualification and certification.
  • Troubleshoot and debug hardware and firmware issues, providing technical support across prototypes and existing products.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and act as a technical resource for Sales, Customer Support and Procurement.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies, mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering; a postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
  • 5+ years’ experience in electronic hardware and embedded software design, with a track record of taking products from concept to production.
  • Background in a product development / R&D environment – electronics, automotive, IoT or similar high-tech industries.
  • Strong ECAD/PCB design skills (Altium or similar) and embedded programming expertise (C/C++) for microcontrollers.
  • Knowledge of microcontroller architectures (ARM Cortex, PIC, etc.) and regulatory/industry standards (EMC/EMI, ISO quality).
  • Hands-on lab experience (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers) for testing and debugging.
