Senior Hardware Design Engineer
Summary
Leads end-to-end design and development of electronic hardware and embedded software products, taking them from concept through testing, certification, and transition to manufacturing. Core technologies: Altium/ECAD PCB design, C/C++ embedded programming, ARM Cortex/PIC microcontrollers, and lab debug equipment.
- Lead end-to-end research, design,
integration, and testing of new electronic hardware and embedded software
solutions, meeting international standards and regulatory requirements.
- Drive design reviews and
collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, quality,
supply chain) and external partners to resolve design challenges.
- Prepare production data packs
(drawings, BOMs, specifications) and support the transition of new designs into
manufacturing.
- Develop and execute test plans to
validate performance, safety and reliability, and drive products through
qualification and certification.
- Troubleshoot and debug hardware
and firmware issues, providing technical support across prototypes and existing
products.
- Maintain clear technical
documentation and act as a technical resource for Sales, Customer Support and
Procurement.
- Stay
ahead of emerging technologies, mentor junior engineers and drive continuous
improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic
Engineering; a postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
- 5+ years’ experience in electronic
hardware and embedded software design, with a track record of taking products
from concept to production.
- Background in a product
development / R&D environment – electronics, automotive, IoT or similar
high-tech industries.
- Strong ECAD/PCB design skills
(Altium or similar) and embedded programming expertise (C/C++) for
microcontrollers.
- Knowledge of microcontroller
architectures (ARM Cortex, PIC, etc.) and regulatory/industry standards
(EMC/EMI, ISO quality).
- Hands-on
lab experience (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analysers) for testing and
debugging.
