Senior Hardware Engineer
Summary
Design and qualify electronic hardware systems end-to-end—from schematic entry and simulation to EMI/EMC compliance and production handoff—using multi-layer PCB layout and tools like LTspice/PSpice.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Design: Architect and develop circuit systems and hardware components from initial specifications down to component selection, structural tolerance analysis, and multi-layer board schematic entry.
- Simulation & Modeling: Perform rigorous analog and digital circuit analyses and simulations to ensure system functionality, thermal boundaries, and reliability standards are met.
- Testing & Hardware Qualification: Formulate comprehensive hardware qualification test plans and execute structural fault insertion testing (FIT) to guarantee robust product performance.
- Compliance & Mitigation: Eliminate potential EMC/EMI and noise coupling issues by implementing advanced trace patterns, shielding, and grounding strategies directly into layout topologies.
- Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate smoothly with global manufacturing plants, supplier quality teams, and internal engineering workstreams to execute engineering change notices and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) goals.
The Essentials (What You Will Have):
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Experience: 3+ years of dedicated, hands-on electronic hardware product design and development experience (Full-lifecycle schematic to production).
- Technical Mastery: Exceptional foundational knowledge of analog/digital circuits, power rails, high-speed routing, and multi-layer board design.
- Noise Mitigation: Solid, demonstrable experience implementing advanced EMI/EMC noise reduction countermeasures into hardware layouts.
- Compliance awareness: Practical experience navigating design isolation, creepage, and clearance spacing metrics to clear strict international safety benchmarks (e.g., UL, CE, or equivalent).
- Simulation Skills: Experience modeling circuit performance using standard industry tools (e.g., LTspice, PSpice, MathCad, HyperLynx, or similar).
The Preferred (Bonus Points If You Have):
- Practical programming skills in Python, LabVIEW, or related test automation frameworks.
- Early foundational knowledge or exposure to industrial control systems or PLC environments.
- Concrete exposure to Functional Safety design guidelines (such as IEC 61508), architectural safety loop calculations, or safety-critical validation frameworks.
