Job DescriptionSenior Hardware Systems EngineerPortsmouthMostly on site12 months£60.69 per hour (Inside IR35)What you'll be doing: of design, test and installation documentationDesign proving, including environmental and Electro Magnetic Compatibility aspectsInvestigation and resolution of design issuesDesign and build of the electrical and hardware system to achieve successful acceptance (FAT(E))Support to development systemsSuccessful installation and setting to work of hardware on shipUnderstanding of Configuration Control and baselinesYour skills and experiences:Essential:* An Engineer with experience in a hardware domain* Knowledge and experience of equipment development using Commercially available Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware components, preferably with an understanding of blade and PC technology.* A can-do, enthusiastic attitude and enquiring mind with a flexible approach & openness to involvement in all aspects of the team's workDesirable:* Ability to operate in a large, complex multi-project environment* Experience with COTS enclosures (e.g. units, cabinets), design, wiring schedules, power distribution etc. would be especially desirable.* Experience working with the Defence sectorEngineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects.
