This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Healthcare Data Analyst, Claims Analytics based in the United States.
This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced data analyst to turn complex healthcare claims data into actionable business insights.
You will analyze large medical and pharmacy claims datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and performance drivers.
The role combines advanced analytics, data modeling, visualization, and business intelligence to support data-driven decision-making.
You will work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams, translating technical findings into clear recommendations and compelling data stories.
A key focus will be evolving analytics from descriptive reporting toward proactive opportunity identification and measurable improvement.
You will also help strengthen data practices, mentor junior analysts, and contribute to a culture where decisions are grounded in high-quality evidence.

Accountabilities:
- Analyze large and complex healthcare datasets, including medical and pharmacy claims, to uncover trends, patterns, performance drivers, and opportunities for improvement.
- Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations that help business leaders make informed strategic and operational decisions.
- Develop automated dashboards, reports, and visualizations primarily using Looker, reducing reliance on manual reporting and improving access to timely insights.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives, identify analytical opportunities, and evolve reporting from descriptive monitoring toward proactive business intelligence.
- Design and maintain data models that support data integrity, accuracy, consistency, and reliable analysis across multiple data sources.
- Apply statistical techniques and, where appropriate, machine learning approaches to address complex business challenges and generate deeper insights.
- Collaborate with IT, engineering, product, and business teams to improve data collection, pipelines, and overall analytical processes.
- Quickly understand unfamiliar datasets and translate them into meaningful insights that can support business priorities.
- Mentor and guide junior analysts while contributing to a broader data-driven culture across the organization.
- Stay current with developments in healthcare analytics, business intelligence, data technologies, and industry best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or another highly quantitative discipline; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in analytics, data management, business intelligence, or a related field, with substantial experience working with healthcare claims data.
- Hands-on experience analyzing medical and/or pharmacy claims, with familiarity with standard claims formats and common elements such as diagnosis and procedure codes preferred.
- Strong SQL skills and experience querying, transforming, and managing large datasets.
- Proficiency with data visualization and business intelligence platforms such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, statistical analysis, data visualization, and analytical methodologies.
- Programming experience in Python, preferably, or R for data analysis, automation, and advanced analytics.
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail and a results-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong data storytelling skills and the ability to connect analytical findings to business objectives and practical recommendations.
- Effective time management and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

- Base salary range of $73,539–$136,065, with compensation determined by factors including skills, qualifications, geographic location, and professional experience.
