Senior HR Business Partner - Pacific Coast

This role serves as a strategic HR advisor and trusted partner to senior leaders, managers, and employees across a large, geographically dispersed workforce.
You will support an employee population of approximately 804 across nine Pacific Coast states, balancing strategic priorities with hands-on HR partnership.
The position plays a key role in organizational effectiveness, talent management, leadership development, and large-scale change initiatives.
You will use workforce data, business insights, and market trends to shape talent decisions and anticipate future organizational needs.
The role also provides ownership and guidance across core HR programs, including performance management, compensation planning, engagement, and talent reviews.
As a coach and thought leader, you will help leaders navigate complex people matters while strengthening culture, communication, and employee engagement.
With approximately 10–15% regional travel, this is an opportunity to make a broad organizational impact while partnering closely with leaders across multiple locations.
Accountabilities
- Build trusted relationships with business leaders, managers, and employees across assigned client groups to understand their strategies, challenges, opportunities, and evolving workforce needs.
- Partner closely with business leadership and HR colleagues to align people strategies with organizational goals and implement effective, integrated HR solutions.
- Analyze workforce data, metrics, and trends to provide actionable insights and support informed talent and organizational decisions.
- Monitor business, market, and industry trends to influence talent strategies and help leaders anticipate emerging workforce requirements.
- Identify talent gaps and work with leaders to develop strategies that address current capabilities while preparing the organization for future needs.
- Coach managers and leaders on employee relations, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, management practices, and other people-related matters.
- Provide guidance on performance management and related employee decisions while supporting legal compliance and helping mitigate organizational risk.
- Promote a culture of open, transparent communication and support initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
- Lead organizational design initiatives and develop change management and communication plans that support business transformation.
- Implement employee engagement initiatives tailored to the needs of assigned client groups and contribute to broader organizational engagement strategies.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of integrated talent solutions that create measurable and sustainable improvements across the organization.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to maintain rigorous selection and assessment practices and ensure appropriate tools and processes support effective hiring decisions.
- Support core HR programs and cycles, including performance management, compensation planning, engagement surveys, and ongoing talent reviews.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree or Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 10–15+ years of progressively responsible experience as a Human Resources Business Partner or in a comparable strategic HR role is required.
- Strong experience in organizational effectiveness, change management, leadership coaching, and talent management is essential.
- Experience supporting a geographically dispersed, multi-location workforce is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to advise and influence senior leaders while balancing strategic priorities with practical, hands-on HR support.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret workforce data, metrics, and trends and translate insights into effective business and talent decisions.
- Excellent coaching, communication, relationship-building, conflict-resolution, and stakeholder-management skills are required.
- Demonstrated understanding of employee relations, performance management, HR policies, and employment-related compliance and risk considerations.
- Ability to manage complex organizational change, develop effective communication strategies, and support leaders through periods of transformation.
- Strong understanding of talent management, workforce planning, organizational design, employee engagement, and leadership development practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional HR teams, including Talent Acquisition, and influence outcomes without relying solely on direct authority.
- A valid driver’s license and driving record that meets applicable organizational motor vehicle safety standards are required.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10–15% of the time across the assigned regional territory.
- Base salary of $120,000–$140,000, plus a 10% bonus.
