Senior Human Resources Generalist

The Sr. Human Resources (SHR) Generalist plays a key role in overseeing the Human Resource Department’s responsibilities and activities of GuideStar Eldercare. The SHR Generalist regularly uses independent judgement and discretion in the matters of employee relations, employment law related to regulatory compliance, and management training and development. The SHR Generalist will also use independent judgement, knowledge, and experience to evaluate HR processes, make recommendations for improvements, and execute as approved by the Chief Financial Officer, General Counsel, or Executive Leadership Team. |
Responsibilities:
- The SHR Generalist agrees to work as reasonably scheduled by Company.
- Assist with all internal and external HR-related employee relations matters, except recruiting.
- Assist with managing the workflow of the HR Coordinator.
- Participate in developing organizational guidelines and procedures. Research and recommend HR best practices. Assist in developing and implementing policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Recommend strategies to motivate employees and for employee retention.
- Complaints/discipline/termination coordination. Investigate and resolve employee issues. Process unemployment claims and assist with responses to EEOC charges/investigations.
- Conducts exit notifications, interviews, and coordinates the return of company equipment.
- Coordinate employee development plans and performance management. Performance review support: 30-60-90-day introductory period reviews, annual performance reviews, maintain and monitor disciplinary and remedial progress plans.
- Wage and Hour compliance (federal and state).
- Manage the Departments personnel records, HRIS system, and prepare reports as needed.
- Manages inclement weather alerts and employee attendance.
- Oversee clinical employee state collaborative agreements.
- Draft/amend Employment Agreements (as needed basis to cover for PTO/FMLA).
- Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
- Develop employee training program for managers, others as needed.
- Benefits administration (as needed basis to cover for PTO/FMLA).
- Regulatory compliance management: annual reporting for Insurance Carriers and Medicare/caid; OSHA and EEOC.
- Maintaining up to date with all Federal/State/Local HR laws and regulations (HR posters).
- Oversees Paid/Unpaid Time Off in compliance with federal and state laws (FMLA/ADA/), including Short & Long-Term Disability claims.
- Plan, execute, and assist with HR-related special projects.
- Execute process improvement department initiatives.
- Worker’s Compensation claims management.
- Services provided by the SHR Generalist shall be performed exclusively at the Company’s corporate office.
- Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- Six+ (6+) years of experience as an HR Coordinator, Generalist, or Specialist
- SHRM/PHR certification required
- Deep understanding of employment law and regulations
- Efficient HR administration and people management skills
- Excellent record keeping skills
- Fantastic knowledge of HR functions and best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines
- Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office, and HR software.
- Remarkable organizational and conflict management skills
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Able to pass background testing, including motor vehicle record review and drug screening.
