Senior ICT Support Analyst
Salary: $91,558 - $107,715 + 5 weeks annual leave

We’re looking for an experienced Senior ICT Support Analyst to join our Deskside Support team and help keep the technology that enables Council staff working effectively, securely and reliably.
This is a hands-on senior technical role supporting a broad Microsoft 365 environment, with a particular focus on endpoint management, identity, security and workplace technology. You’ll provide third-level technical support, help resolve complex issues and play an important role in improving how we deliver ICT services across Council and our CCOs.
Ko wai tātou | The role
You’ll work across a range of technical and operational activities, including:
- Providing third-level technical support and resolving complex incidents and problems across the Microsoft 365 environment.
- Managing and supporting Windows and Android endpoints, including application packaging and deployment.
- Configuring and maintaining endpoint, compliance, conditional access and identity management policies.
- Supporting Microsoft Entra ID, Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and Microsoft Defender.
- Supporting Exchange Online and Teams administration.
- Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to prevent recurring issues.
- Developing and improving technical processes, automation and self-service capabilities.
- Providing technical advice and guidance across projects and technology initiatives.
- Supporting the secure configuration and management of Council’s ICT environment.
- Sharing your knowledge and providing guidance and mentoring to other members of the team.
- Working with delivery teams to ensure new technology and services are ready to transition into operational support.
Ko wai koe | About you
We’re looking for someone with strong practical experience across Microsoft 365 and modern endpoint management, who enjoys solving complex technical problems and finding ways to improve the customer experience.
You’ll ideally have:
- A relevant Level 6+ IT qualification and/or significant experience in a senior ICT support role.
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365 management and administration.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager, including application deployment, configuration, compliance and conditional access.
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, identity management and PIM.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
- Experience with Exchange Online and Teams administration.
- The ability to investigate and resolve complex incidents and problems.
- Experience providing technical advice and guidance within projects.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to a range of audiences.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to mentor and support others.
- A good understanding of networking and cloud-based platforms.
- A current driver's licence.
Experience with macOS and iOS endpoint management, Microsoft certifications and ITIL would be advantageous.
