As we continue to strengthen our cyber resilience and defence-sector capabilities, we're looking for a talented Senior Information Security Engineer to play a pivotal role in our security journey. This is a senior technical leadership opportunity where you'll influence security strategy, architecture, assurance, and governance across the organisation. Working alongside the Head of IT Security, you'll help establish and maintain the foundations required for DCC, embed Secure by Design principles, and ensure robust, evidence-based security controls across enterprise environments. What You'll Be Doing As our subject matter expert for information security assurance and architecture, you will: Lead the design and implementation of information security controls across cloud, enterprise, research, manufacturing, operational technology, data, and supplier environments. Drive Secure by Design principles throughout projects, procurement activities, and service lifecycles. Support MTC's (DCC) readiness and ongoing compliance activities. Translate frameworks and standards, Cyber Essentials Plus and NIST CSF into practical security controls and assurance requirements. Maintain security design documentation, control mappings, evidence repositories and assurance records. Provide expert guidance on security risk management, governance, policy development and incident response. Mentor colleagues within the security function and act as a trusted advisor across technical and business teams. Support customer audits, security assessments, supplier assurance activities and responses to security questionnaires. What We're Looking For We're interested in speaking with experienced security professionals who can demonstrate: Essential Significant experience in information security architecture, governance, risk, compliance, assurance, or audit-focused security roles. Experience producing security designs, control frameworks, assurance documentation and audit-ready evidence. Strong understanding of security risk management, cloud security, identity management, data protection and supplier assurance. Experience supporting external audits, certifications, customer assurance reviews or defence-sector security requirements. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels. Desirable Experience within defence, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, operational technology, or other highly regulated environments. Experience with Microsoft security technologies including Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID, Purview, Intune and Azure Security services. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, SABSA or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer.
