Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer

Senior engineer automates and improves CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure using Ansible, Jenkins, and Python across on-prem and AWS for Motorola’s public-safety radio systems.

The department delivers a server platform solution for the ASTRO 25, the world's most widely used P25 mission-critical voice and data communication network.

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join the Common ASTRO DevOps team supporting ASTRO Public Safety Systems. The role is centered on shared CI/CD platform ownership, with Ansible as the main current project and a key area of responsibility.

You will take part in automation and operational improvements across on-prem and AWS environments, with emphasis on Ansible-driven configuration, Jenkins reliability, Artifactory flows and release-support tooling.


You will also guide application teams, review technical changes, and drive pragmatic platform decisions across the organization.
Technologies/frameworks

- Main focus: Ansible automation for configuration management and CI environment support

- Automation and scripting: Python, Groovy, Bash

- CI/CD and SCM: Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory, GitHub

- Platforms: Linux (Red Hat), Windows, KVM

Basic Requirements

- Solid experience (+4 years) in OnPrem CI/CD, infrastructure automation.

- Strong hands-on experience with Ansible and automation using Python, Groovy, or Bash

- Hands-on experience with Jenkins troubleshooting, pipeline support, and CI/CD improvements

- Strong Linux skills and confidence in operational troubleshooting

- Experience with Git, and Artifactory

- Ability to solve cross-system issues and review solutions proposed by other teams

- Commitment to code quality, clean code practices, and delivering high-quality solutions

- Effective English communication and strong cross-team collaboration skills

In addition, we would welcome:

- Experience with KVM, or other on-prem delivery infrastructure

- Experience with release engineering, package signing

- Experience mentoring engineers and helping teams adopt self-service models
