Senior Infrastructure Engineer (AWS)

We are seeking a senior hands-on engineer who combines meaningful Amazon Connect experience with strong AWS infrastructure and serverless application engineering.

This engineer will build the cloud services, integrations, deployment patterns, and operational controls that support Amazon Connect solutions across multiple European client engagements. The role is execution focused and requires someone who can take ownership of a workstream, contribute to requirements and design, and personally deliver production-quality code and infrastructure.

The successful candidate is credible in Amazon Connect and particularly strong in AWS CDK, Lambda, event-driven architecture, integration services, security, observability, and delivery automation. Bedrock and agentic AI experience is a valuable secondary capability. Deep React or full-stack user interface development is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Build and support Amazon Connect solutions and the AWS services that integrate contact flows with enterprise applications, data sources, workflows, and operational systems.
• Develop serverless and event-driven components using Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, and related AWS services selected for the use case.
• Author reusable infrastructure as code with AWS CDK as the preferred tool, using CloudFormation or Terraform when required by the client environment.
• Create repeatable deployment patterns across development, test, and production environments, including multi-account controls, configuration management, secrets management, and least-privilege IAM.
• Develop Lambda functions, APIs, event handlers, workflow orchestration, validation, and error handling using Python, TypeScript, or Node.js.
• Instrument solutions using CloudWatch logs, metrics, alarms, traces, dashboards, and correlation identifiers that support rapid diagnosis across Connect and downstream services.
• Build or maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, code quality checks, security scanning, and controlled release processes for live contact center environments.
• Participate in client requirements sessions, technical design reviews, demonstrations, cutover planning, incident triage, and knowledge transfer.
• Document architectures, interfaces, deployment procedures, runbooks, operational dependencies, and support expectations.
• Work closely with the Amazon Connect lead and other engineers to ensure that infrastructure decisions support customer experience, security, reliability, and maintainability.

Requirments:

• Seven or more years of relevant software, cloud, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Meaningful hands-on experience with Amazon Connect delivery, including familiarity with contact flows, routing, Lambda integration patterns, and production operations.
• Strong AWS serverless architecture and engineering experience using Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, Step Functions, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• Strong infrastructure as code capability using AWS CDK, preferably in TypeScript, or equivalent depth with CloudFormation or Terraform and the ability to work effectively in CDK.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, or Node.js and experience writing maintainable, testable production code.
• Experience with event-driven design, API integration, asynchronous processing, retries, idempotency, failure handling, observability, and secure service-to-service access.
• Experience delivering and supporting production AWS systems through CI/CD and structured release management.
• Excellent written and spoken English with the confidence to work directly with client engineering and delivery teams.

Must-have:

• SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, Kinesis, Secrets Manager, Systems Manager Parameter Store, X-Ray, CloudWatch dashboards, and AWS Organizations or Control Tower patterns.
• Amazon Connect Cases, Tasks, Customer Profiles, Contact Lens, Streams API, analytics, outbound capabilities, or workforce management integrations.
• Migration or integration experience involving Avaya, Genesys, Cisco, Salesforce, Oracle, ServiceNow, or other contact center and CRM platforms.
• GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, automated unit and integration testing, Playwright, Jest, Vitest, pytest, or similar tooling.
• Security and compliance experience involving encryption, audit logging, least privilege IAM, data residency, DevSecOps, healthcare, financial services, or public sector environments.
• AWS Solutions Architect, Developer, DevOps Engineer, Security, Machine Learning, or other relevant certification.

Nice to have:

• Experience integrating Amazon Bedrock, Claude, Amazon Q in Connect, Amazon Lex, or comparable LLM services into customer experience or workflow solutions.
• Experience implementing tool calling through Lambda and APIs, multi-step or multi-agent workflows, customer and case lookups, guardrails, validation, and escalation to human queues.
• Understanding of prompt versioning, trace correlation, token usage, latency, model selection, cost controls, data protection, and production monitoring for AI-enabled workloads.

Interview focus:

• Practical design exercise covering an Amazon Connect integration built with serverless AWS services.
• CDK and infrastructure as code depth, including environments, permissions, deployment, rollback, and reuse.
• Troubleshooting approach across contact flows, Lambda, events, APIs, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• Evidence of owning production delivery rather than only advising or reviewing architecture.
• Bedrock or agentic AI experience is additive, while strong Connect and AWS infrastructure capability remains the hiring priority.
