Job Description Storage, Virtualization & Automation Engineer

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Storage, Virtualization & Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Dell Technologies storage solutions, VxRail, VMware virtualization, backup technologies, Linux administration, and infrastructure automation. The candidate will be responsible for managing enterprise infrastructure, ensuring platform availability, implementing automation, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and coordinating with technology vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, administer, and troubleshoot Dell EMC storage technologies, including storage provisioning, monitoring, performance management, capacity management, and incident resolution.
• Provide administration and operational support for Dell VxRail infrastructure, including health monitoring, troubleshooting, upgrades, and lifecycle activities.
• Administer and support VMware virtualization environments, including ESXi, vCenter, virtual machines, clusters, resource management, and troubleshooting.
• Manage and support enterprise backup and recovery solutions, including Dell EMC Avamar and PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM).
• Monitor backup jobs, investigate backup failures, perform troubleshooting, and coordinate recovery activities as required.
• Perform Linux administration activities such as system monitoring, user management, filesystem management, service management, log analysis, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Provide basic Windows Server administration support, including user/access management, service monitoring, system health checks, and basic troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain Bash scripts to automate repetitive administrative and operational tasks.
• Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks for infrastructure automation, configuration management, deployment, and operational activities.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency through scripting and Infrastructure Automation.
• Perform proactive infrastructure health checks and ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities and provide technical support for critical infrastructure issues.
• Work closely with Dell, VMware, backup technology providers, and other OEM/vendor teams for troubleshooting, technical escalations, upgrades, and resolution of complex issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, troubleshooting guides, and automation documentation.
• Collaborate with internal infrastructure, application, security, and service management teams to ensure smooth delivery of IT services.

• Practical experience developing Ansible playbooks and Bash scripts for infrastructure automation.
• Experience working in a 24x7 or IT operations/support environment would be an advantage.
