Senior Infrastructure & Security Systems Engineer
Summary
Senior engineer who designs, deploys, and secures enterprise IT infrastructure and physical security systems in Singapore, working with servers, Cisco networks, and CCTV/access-control platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end deployment, installation, configuration, and commissioning of enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking equipment, and integrated physical security systems.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise server platforms (Dell, HPE, Oracle, Lenovo, or equivalent) to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Plan, implement, and support data centre, server room, and command centre infrastructure projects, including rack installation, structured cabling, patching, cable management, and hardware integration.
- Configure, administer, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including Cisco switches, VLANs, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, routing, switching, subnetting, and network security.
- Deploy, integrate, and support enterprise physical security systems, including CCTV, Video Management Systems (VMS), Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, and related security technologies.
- Perform system integration, testing, commissioning, and customer acceptance for infrastructure and security projects.
- Monitor system performance and conduct preventive maintenance, firmware upgrades, health checks, and capacity planning to maximise system reliability and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, networking, server, and security system issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing permanent corrective actions.
- Participate in incident response, emergency recovery, scheduled maintenance, and on-call support to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including infrastructure architecture, network diagrams, system configurations, installation records, asset inventories, and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, cybersecurity requirements, ITIL service management practices, and company policies.
- Support Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises, infrastructure audits, and compliance assessments.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Solution Architects, Engineers, Vendors, Subcontractors, and Clients to deliver projects on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards.
- Provide technical leadership during deployments, migrations, upgrades, and system acceptance testing.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise IT infrastructure, systems engineering, networking, data centre operations, or integrated security systems.
- Proven experience leading infrastructure deployment projects and supporting mission-critical enterprise environments.
- Extensive experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise server platforms such as Dell, HPE, Oracle, Lenovo, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of server hardware, RAID, BIOS, firmware, storage systems, Windows Server, Linux, and enterprise operating environments.
- Expert understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, switching, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise network troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience configuring Cisco switches, VLANs, trunking, link aggregation, switch ports, and network performance optimisation.
- Experience with structured cabling systems, including fibre optic and copper (UTP) cabling, rack integration, patch panels, and enterprise data centre standards.
- Hands-on experience deploying and supporting enterprise CCTV, Video Management Systems (VMS), Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, and integrated security platforms.
- Experience using enterprise IT Service Management (ITSM) tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, Jira Service Management, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of Incident, Problem, Change, Asset, and Configuration Management processes aligned with ITIL best practices.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CCNA, ITIL Foundation, VMware, Microsoft, or security system certifications will be an advantage.
