Senior Integration Engineer

Senior Azure Integration Engineer
Melbourne | Permanent | $145k-$160k + super | Hybrid
We are working with a large Australian organisation building a dedicated Azure Integration Services capability across a complex enterprise technology environment.
Azure Integration Services is already in production across cloud, SaaS and on-premise applications, with a broader program underway to consolidate and standardise the organisation's integration landscape.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Azure Integration Engineer to join the newly established integration team and work closely with the Integration Lead, Enterprise Architecture, DevOps and application teams.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who has strong experience building, supporting and improving enterprise integrations using Azure Integration Services.
What you'll be responsible for
- Design, build and support enterprise integrations across cloud, SaaS and on-premise systems
- Develop solutions using Azure Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus and API Management
- Work with the Integration Lead and Enterprise Architect to implement agreed integration patterns and standards
- Contribute to the consolidation and migration of existing integrations into the target platform
- Build reliable asynchronous, event-driven and API-based integrations
- Implement appropriate retry, dead-lettering, idempotency and error-handling patterns
- Improve observability, monitoring and end-to-end transaction tracing
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions and engineering standards
- Support BAU integrations and troubleshoot complex production issues
- Work closely with DevOps on CI/CD, deployment and release processes
- Support and mentor other engineers as the team continues to grow
Technology environment
- Azure Logic Apps
- Azure Functions
- Azure Service Bus
- Azure API Management
- C# / .NET
- Azure DevOps and CI/CD
- REST APIs
- Event-driven and asynchronous integration
- D365, Salesforce, Snowflake and internally developed applications
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone whose recent experience is strongly focused on enterprise integration, rather than a general software developer who has worked with Azure occasionally.
Ideally, you will bring:
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Integration Services
- Good experience across Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus and APIM
- Strong C# / .NET development capability
- Experience building integrations across multiple enterprise applications and business systems
- Strong understanding of APIs, asynchronous messaging, pub/sub and event-driven integration
- Experience with retries, dead-letter queues, idempotency and resilient integration design
- Knowledge of observability, correlation IDs, monitoring and production support
- Experience working with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working within defined integration patterns and engineering standards
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently on complex technical problems
You should be comfortable working in an environment where the integration capability is still evolving.
You'll have an experienced Integration Lead in place, but you'll also be expected to bring your own technical judgement, contribute ideas and challenge designs constructively when you see a better way of doing something.
Why consider it?
This is a chance to join a newly established integration team at a point where there is significant investment in improving and standardising the platform.
You'll work on complex enterprise integrations, contribute to how the capability develops and have the opportunity to work closely with senior engineering and architecture leaders while remaining firmly hands-on.
If you're an experienced Azure Integration Engineer looking for complex technical work, genuine ownership and the opportunity to help build a stronger enterprise integration capability, we'd love to hear from you.
