Senior Integrations Engineer

About the Role

This is a senior individual contributor (IC) backend engineering role at a well-funded Series A startup building an AI-enabled, device-agnostic risk-management platform for cold-chain logistics. The platform helps pharma and perishables shippers and carriers reduce product loss, improve operational efficiency, and make smarter decisions in real time — answering who, what, when, where, and how for every shipment.

You'll be a key technical voice on a lean, high-velocity team of ~27, designing and shipping the distributed systems that sit at the heart of the product. Your work directly protects high-value shipments that people depend on.

What You'll Do

  • Design and build backend services powering the logistics orchestration and decision-intelligence platform.

  • Own data-heavy distributed systems that contextualize IoT monitoring data and quantify shipment risk in real time.

  • Build predictive systems for OTIF (on-time, in-full) performance and automate exception-handling workflows.

  • Architect and maintain event-driven pipelines for high-volume IoT data ingestion and processing.

  • Partner closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to influence product and architecture decisions.

  • Champion software engineering best practices: testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.

  • Build for scale and reliability in a domain where uptime and accuracy genuinely matter.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 5–15 years of backend engineering experience building scalable, distributed systems.

  • Proficiency in at least one modern backend language: Python, Java, Go, or Rust (strong Java and/or Python preferred).

  • Hands-on experience designing and operating data-heavy distributed systems.

  • Experience with IoT data ingestion, processing, and contextualization.

  • Proficiency with relational databases (SQL) and data modeling; experience with NoSQL databases and ETL pipelines is a plus.

  • Experience building event-driven architectures and working with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar).

  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.

  • Experience deploying and operating services on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

  • Experience with API design and development (REST and/or gRPC).

  • Strong software engineering practices including testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.

  • Strong cross-functional communication skills; ability to influence architecture and engineering decisions.

  • Eligibility to work in the United States or ability to obtain visa sponsorship (sponsorship available).

Nice to Have

  • Domain knowledge in logistics, cold chain, shipment risk quantification, or OTIF prediction.

  • Prior experience at logistics-tech, supply-chain, or IoT-focused companies.

  • Familiarity with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements relevant to pharma or cold-chain domains.

  • Prior work at a growth-stage or Series A startup.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $130,000 – $160,000 USD annually

  • Equity participation

  • Cash bonus

  • Visa sponsorship available

Location & Work Arrangement
