Senior Internal Audit Specialist Colombia

The Internal Audit area at Plata C.F. is a critical, independent, and strategic third line of defense. Our purpose is to provide objective assurance to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors regarding the governance, internal control environment, and risk management systems. The area operates under agile methodologies to protect the institution’s financial and operational stability while ensuring full alignment with local regulatory mandates during the company's operational launch and scaling phase.

Senior Internal Audit Specialist is responsible for:

• Leading and executing end-to-end financial and non-financial risk-based audits.
• Evaluating the design, implementation, and operational effectiveness of internal controls (specifically targeting SIAR, SARLAFT, SAC, and financial reporting).
• Conducting rigorous follow-ups and independent testing on open audit findings and recurrent deficiencies raised by Internal Audit, Revisoría Fiscal, and the Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia.
• Testing Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Protocols (DRP) across core operational processes.
• Developing comprehensive audit programs and drafting executive-level technical reports to be presented before the Audit Committee.

• Auditing and stabilizing the control environment during the high-speed launch phase of a regulated financial entity in Colombia.
• Navigating and enforcing complex SFC regulations (External Circulars, SIAR, SARLAFT, and SAC frameworks) within a dynamic, tech-driven FinTech operation.
• Balancing the agility and speed of a high-growth corporate environment with the meticulous documentation and technical reporting required by local supervisors.
• Acting as a senior technical advisor, defending independent audit findings objectively before senior management and multidisciplinary teams (IT, Legal, Operations, and Compliance).

What makes you a great fit:

• Financial Background: 6–8 years of experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management, or Regulatory Compliance specifically within the Colombian Financial Sector (Banks, Financing Companies, or regulated FinTechs).
• Technical Frameworks Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of SFC regulations, including mandatory frameworks like SIAR, SAC, SARLAFT and Accounting/Financial reporting under IFRS/SFC standards.
• Academic Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering. A Postgraduate Specialization or Master's Degree in Risk Management or Financial Regulation is highly preferred.
• Tech-Savvy & Adaptable: Comfort operating with agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Airtable) and data-driven environments.
• Language Proficiency: English level (C1/B2) for corporate and regional cross-border reporting.
