Senior iOS Engineer - Core Experience

Posted
Discussion

Summary

Contract Senior iOS Engineer joining the Core Experience team to build family features (Managed Accounts, parental controls, Family Jams, audiobooks) and maintain app-wide platform components like layout, navigation and Settings. Requires 8+ years of iOS/Swift experience and agentic-first development with tools like Claude and Cursor.

We are looking for a contractor to join our team Compass in Core Experience. In Compass, you will have the opportunity not only to build our family experiences — Managed Accounts, which give kids and teens a safe place to listen and parents real control and insight — but also to maintain and evolve the platform stacks behind much of the app — the main layout, navigation UI and Settings — that enable squads across Core Experience to ship on stable foundations. Alongside that, you will have an impact on surfaces like junior accounts, Family Jams and audiobooks in Managed Accounts when it comes to improving the experience, maintaining them, and supporting bandmates.

As it's natural because of the set of products and systems owned by Compass, we are mostly working on high priority company initiatives — our work is as much shaped by regulatory expectations for youth safety as by what families need, and often we build new stuff, we prototype and experiment. Therefore, you will work closely with product managers, design, insights, and legal and policy stakeholders, and possibly have the opportunity to lead projects that require cross-team collaboration.

What you'll do

- Collaborate within our team of Android, iOS and Backend engineers, designers, data scientists and our product manager to continuously experiment, iterate, and deliver on new product objectives.
- Build groundbreaking iOS features that help kids, teens and parents get more out of their accounts — from Managed Accounts and parental controls to Family Jams and audiobooks for young listeners.
- Maintain and evolve the app-wide platform components that product teams across Core Experience depend on — the main layout, navigation UI and Settings.
- Write clear, maintainable code that will scale across a number of projects and distributed development teams, ensuring quality solutions.
- Contribute to our team processes to make sure we continue improving them and adapting to current needs.
- Help drive performance improvements, testing, and tooling to improve data and systems quality.

Who you are

- You are a Senior iOS Engineer with 8+ years of iOS development experience.
- You have experience with agentic tools, and are an engineer who adopts agentic-first development. Having prior experience with agentic tools like Claude and Cursor is crucial.
- You are an inclusive colleague and a true great teammate.
- You love to collaborate with your colleagues and have a mindset for continuous improvement.
- You have a deep understanding and experience of modern iOS development and best practices.
- You care about quality and you know what it means to ship high-quality code.
- You know how to write readable, idiomatic and maintainable Swift and are willing to follow already defined coding guidelines and workflows.
- You have a deep understanding of Cocoa design patterns and API design.
- You understand how mobile applications connect with backend systems end-to-end.
- You have experience with, or a genuine interest in, building for families and young listeners — designing with safety, privacy and parental trust in mind.
- You are comfortable building shared platform components that other teams depend on, treating API design and backward compatibility as first-class concerns.
- Having some working experience with C++ or Android development is a plus, as you may occasionally build features that span across platforms and codebases.
- You value team success over personal success.
- You value continuing learning and incentivising others to do the same in the process.

Start/end: 2026-11-23 to 2027-05-31

Workplace: remote Sweden.
