Job Summary
The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering complex IT projects from initiation through implementation and completion. The role oversees project scope, budgets, schedules, technical resources, vendors, and client requirements while ensuring projects are delivered according to agreed business and technical objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of IT implementation, software, infrastructure, systems integration, and digital transformation projects.
Develop detailed project plans covering scope, timelines, milestones, resources, budgets, deliverables, and project dependencies.
Coordinate with software developers, engineers, technical consultants, vendors, clients, and internal business teams.
Gather and evaluate business and technical requirements and translate them into structured project deliverables.
Manage multiple concurrent IT projects and ensure timely completion within approved budgets and schedules.
Monitor project expenditure, resource utilisation, commercial commitments, and overall project profitability.
Identify technical, operational, financial, and scheduling risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
Manage system implementation, integration, testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment, and post-implementation support activities.
Conduct regular project meetings and provide progress reports to senior management and clients.
Manage project changes, variation requirements, issue escalation, and corrective actions.
Coordinate external IT vendors, technology partners, subcontractors, and service providers.
Ensure project documentation, technical specifications, implementation records, reports, and acceptance documents are properly maintained.
Establish project governance procedures and ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, cybersecurity practices, and applicable standards.
Support management in evaluating new technologies, solutions, vendors, and implementation strategies.
Participate in client presentations, technical discussions, project proposals, solution planning, and tender activities.
Mentor and supervise project coordinators, engineers, consultants, and other project team members.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Strong experience in IT project management, technology implementation, systems integration, software development, infrastructure, or technology consulting.
Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, technical teams, vendors, and client stakeholders.
Strong understanding of the IT project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, ITIL, or other relevant professional certification would be advantageous.
