Senior IT Project Manager - Finance

Summary

Oversee 3–5 finance-tech projects end-to-end, aligning IT, finance, and business stakeholders while managing budgets, risks, and vendor relationships.

We are currently searching for a Job Position:

Responsibilities

  • Manage 3-5 small- to medium-scale projects from planning to completion by facilitating meetings with project stakeholders.
  • Develop, analyze, and manage the project plan, schedule, and resource forecast.
  • Manage project financials, providing input and justification for costs and budget impacts while monitoring overall project performance against the plan.
  • Manage the work of assigned project teams by requesting resources, communicating a clear vision of goals, coordinating team activities, and providing performance feedback.
  • Manage, control, and mitigate project risks by analyzing trigger events, establishing contingency plans, and communicating dependencies.
  • Manage the alignment and buy-in of diverse stakeholders by building relationships with internal customers, third-party vendors, and senior management.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to Portfolio/Program Managers to inform prioritization of deliverables and facilitate project delivery decisions.
  • Adhere to enterprise project management practices, track key metrics, and gather/communicate lessons learned to the larger project management community.
  • Assist in the request for information and vendor request for proposal processes as directed.
  • Provide additional hands-on support to the project team, including managing vendor requests, creating training materials, building/tracking reports, and performing operational tasks when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of related IT or business experience, including 5+ years of project management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working on projects involving the implementation of project life cycle methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills for budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis of finance technology investments.
  • Deep understanding of finance processes, systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of integration between finance systems and enterprise platforms.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with complex interdependencies.
  • Ability to build consensus and drive alignment among finance, IT, and business stakeholders.
  • Expertise in vendor management and influencing project teams without formal direct reporting relationships.
  • Exceptional communication skills for reporting project status, risks, and financial impacts to executive leadership.
  • High-Performance Mindset: Resilience, emotional intelligence, and a focus on agile delivery.
  • Technologist DNA: A deep understanding of the difference between "coding" and "engineering."

Desired

  • PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale, cross-functional finance technology projects from inception to completion.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle EBS (Financials, Procurement, etc.) and other finance technologies (e.g., SAP, Workday).
  • Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks specific to finance technology implementations.
  • Experience managing change in regulated environments (SOX, GDPR, etc.).
  • Ability to develop and execute contingency plans for critical finance systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native foundations or AI coding assistants.
