Senior IT Support Engineer

Salary: $40 – $50 per hour

WHAT DOES COMPUTER CLINIC DO?
Just about everything relating to IT that an SME business needs to operate!
E.g. hardware, software, systems, security, email, backups and IT support remotely & onsite.
Working as a team, you would typically:-
Adapt an IT system to align to a business’ current and future needs.
Ensure businesses are working to their fullest capacity and maximizing productivity.
Give timely advice on required changes and improvements, whcih can involve complex IT project work.
Monitoring various systems and resolving any reported issues in a timely manner.
Carry out general IT services as needed (e.g. all requirements for a new user).
Design and install network infrastructure, routers, switches, VoIP telephones.

WHAT COMPUTER CLINIC OFFERS
You will be joining a relaxed but busy working environment. Family focused with an informal dress code, you can work hours to suit with flexible start and end times, working as many or few hours per week as agreed, up to a maximum of 40. You will have the opportunity to develop fast, learning from experienced, friendly and supportive colleagues. As you gain experience and confidence you will have the opportunity to take on your own projects, following through the entire project lifecycle from consultation to handover, documentation and training.

ABOUT THE ROLE


The role is varied, covering all aspects of IT. Examples of daily tasks we cover are below. We are looking for someone skilled in a wide variety of IT disciplines with depth of knowledge, so tick as many boxes as you can below:
General IT consultancy, listening to issues, giving advice & coming up with a roadmap
Computer upgrades, servicing and optimisation
Router setups, Managed Switches & Server technologies
Wireless solutions
Network printer setups
Physical troubleshooting (hands on) of computers and laptops
Managed & monitored computer systems and anti-virus programs
Internet connections
Microsoft 365 business email, calendar, OneDrive setup
Microsoft 365 SharePoint setup and configurations
Microsoft 365 Azure AD configuration
Google Workspace system setups and configurations
Google Drive implementations and configurations
Dropbox for Business implementations and configurations
Apple mac hardware & software issues (you are either a mac person or you are not!)
Backup and disaster recovery solutions

The role is seen as being 70% office based and 30% field based. The field portion is mainly delivering and setting up new hardware or necessary onsite support and a pool car is provided for this. The variety of work types is vast and you will be busy, but at the same time, surrounded and encouraged by a supportive team in a family environment.

ABOUT YOU
We are looking for candidates who are Technicians with strong admin and communication skills who can relate well and empathise with customers. In order to fit in with the team, the key attributes we will be looking for are open-mindedness, attention to detail and the ability to learn new technologies fast, documenting and sharing with the team. In addition to this you will demonstrate the below skills:
A collaborative team player with the ability to work well under pressure
Proactive and resourceful you will have the ability to learn, adapt and are open minded
Think outside the square and contribute ideas from your experiences
Be able to work calmly with focus whilst under pressure
Demonstrate clear thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
Be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Helpdesk and out in the field customer service experience
Analytical skills and root cause analysis troubleshooting methodologies
Hold an up to date IT qualification
Passionate about IT and technology

As you gain more experience, you will:
Analyse user problems and proactively implement how to prevent reoccurring issues
Be creative, presenting your own ideas and solutions surrounding day to day issues
Identify future technologies which could be used internally or for customers
