Summary
Senior IT Support Engineer focused on virtualisation (VMware/Hyper-V) and Microsoft infrastructure (Windows Server, Active Directory), supporting business-critical systems, managing IT suppliers, and owning infrastructure projects. Home-based with one day per month in Oxford; £55,000–£65,000 plus bonus and benefits.
Salary: £55,000 - 65,000 per year
Requirements:- Strong hands-on experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V in complex infrastructure environments
- Experience managing virtualisation infrastructure, including upgrades, migrations or significant changes
- Strong Microsoft infrastructure experience, particularly Windows Server and Active Directory
- Experience managing external IT suppliers
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to take ownership of complex technical issues
- Experience supporting reliable, business-critical infrastructure
- Microsoft Azure and/or AWS experience is desirable
- Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 experience is desirable
- Relevant VMware, Hyper-V or Microsoft certifications are desirable
- Experience supporting infrastructure across multiple data centres is desirable
- Experience evaluating new technologies and recommending infrastructure improvements is desirable
- Support business-critical systems across a complex, highly available infrastructure environment
- Support and develop Microsoft-based infrastructure
- Manage IT suppliers
